Earlier this year, Corsair released the Sabre RGB Pro Champion Series mouse targeted at esports and tournament play. Now, the company has stuck to the same aims of the Sabre RGB Pro but in a new, wireless version.
The Corsair Sabre RGB Pro Wireless boasts the same design aesthetic as the wired version, only with a slightly heavier frame. It features standard left and right click buttons, with a slight groove in them for comfortably holding two fingers. There is also a texture to the material on the left and right click that helps keep fingers from slipping. Forward and back buttons flank the left side of the mouse, and there is a DPI quick select button underneath the scroll wheel.
At 79 grams, the Corsair Sabre RGB Pro Wireless is extremely lightweight – a popular trend in wireless mice at the moment. Its design fits comfortably in the hand regardless of if users prefer to rest their fingers or have them in a bent position. By now Corsair has the design part of the equation down pat, and the Corsair Sabre RGB Pro Wireless is no different. After using it for dozens of hours, it’s become a personal favorite for comfort, ease of use, customization, and portability.
The Corsair Sabre RGB Pro Wireless sports extremely responsive left and right click that feature Corsair’s Quickstrike technology. Essentially, that means that the design of the buttons, along with a less than 1ms response time, ensure that clicks are extremely accurate and fast. One of the main concerns for wireless mice early on was their response time, but thanks to Corsair’s Slipstream technology and included USB dongle, the difference between this and a wired mouse is negligible. And for those situations where a gamer might not have access to a USB port, the Corsair Sabre RGB Pro Wireless also supports Bluetooth. We found this particularly useful for 2 PC setups used in content creation, as it allowed for switching the mouse from one PC to the next simply by flipping the toggle on the bottom.
Corsair’s one big change for the Sabre RGB Pro Wireless is a drop down to 2,000 Hz Hyperpolling instead of the 8,000 Hz of the wired version. That might be for the best, though, since reviews of the wired version criticized how much stress the mouse could put on a CPU. In our time testing, the Corsair Sabre RGB Pro Wireless, our CPU never broke a sweat.
With the Champion Series and an esports target, the Corsair Sabre RGB Pro Wireless needed to nail the responsiveness of the mouse both in terms of mouse clicks and wireless connectivity, and it excels at both. It’s also poised to be a strong workhorse for the more dedicated gamers, boasting up to 90 hours of battery life (a USB-C charging cable is included in the box).
The Corsair Sabre RGB Pro Wireless boasts a 26,000 DPI Sensor that is as accurate as they come and fully programmable using the company’s proprietary iCUE software. Within the software, users can make fine adjustments (1 DPI at a time if they so choose) in order to meet their specific needs. Those who prefer the standardized DPI settings can toggle between them using the mouse’s DPI Cycle button to jump between 400, 800, 1200, 1600, and 3200 on the fly without any pre-programming. On top of that, users can adjust their DPI in 50 DPI increments without having to use any software.
The Sabre RGB Pro Wireless is obviously plenty customizable out of the box, but those who want to dig into Corsair’s iCUE software can take things a few steps further. As mentioned, DPI customization runs the gamut, and with this being an RGB unit there are options for changing the mouse’s backlit Corsair logo.
Packaged all together, the Sabre RGB Pro Wireless is another great mouse from Corsair. It has some important customization built right into the device but also software support that can fine tune it even further. Connectivity is a breeze with the Slipstream USB dongle, or Bluetooth is an option for those that might need to go that route. And most importantly, the mouse feels great in the hand and is very responsive. It might be geared towards esports and tournaments, but even as an everyday mouse it hits all the important bullet points.
