Corpse Husband, the YouTuber turned world-famous Among Us streamer, broke a week-long silence on Twitter by posting a cryptic video. Since the post was accompanied by no explanation, fans understandably began to speculate wildly on the meaning of the tweet.
Due to the ambiguous yet artistic nature of the 25-second clip, most fans came to the consensus that the video was a snippet from a forthcoming music video. After all, earlier this year, Corpse Husband's "E-GIRLS ARE RUINING MY LIFE!" broke over 100 million streams on Spotify, and topped out at the second-place spot in the Spotify Viral 50. Though "E-GIRLS" became the streamer's most well-known song, he has continued to produce several other hits, leading many to speculate that an entire album could be on the horizon.
There were others in the crowd who could not ignore the potentially disturbing nature of the clip, which shows a shot of a man—with a similar appearance to Corpse himself—standing at the edge of a cliff as his feet begin to levitate off the ground. A single line of white text on a black background closes the short video, stating "is this even real?" Of course, while many were rightly concerned, the mysterious nature of the video seemed, to most, on-brand with the streamer's enigmatic nature. Corpse Husband, after all, is famous for having never revealed his face to fans.
One more level-headed fan, Twitter user secretly_a_mess, reminded others that the video originally surfaced after Corpse Husband requested fan art to repost on his social media. Clearly, the Among Us streamer was impressed with the 25-second animation which he has since reposted to both TikTok and Twitter, electing to use a still from the clip as his Twitter header.
Obviously, this did very little to assuage the fears of a fan base who are noted for their genuine concern of Corpse Husband's battle with chronic illnesses. Amid the frenzy of reactions, Twitter user CATEARSCORPSE, admitted to losing sleep over the whole ordeal.
Whatever Corpse Husband's intentions were, his fanbase has been largely left a mixture of confused, concerned, and potentially excited. Though many would like to see him return to his roots, playing with celebrities in Among Us, others are calling for Corpse to focus more on his music career. While the brief clip may offer fans no explanation, it at least has everyone's attention waiting for what the streamer will reveal next.
