In the wake of Twitch moving to limit the mention of certain gambling sites on its platform, streamer Corinna Kopf thinks the site is on a slippery slope and eventually, there will be performers that "aren't able to do anything." While the Twitch ban on gambling has mostly been met with praise from high-profile streamers like Pokimane, Kopf is among those who make their living with gambling streams and appears concerned about what might come next.

Gambling streams have been a controversial topic on Twitch over the last few weeks, especially in the wake of an admission by the streamer Sliker that he scammed his audience out of thousands of dollars in order to help pay his gambling debts. That admission has started a bit of a chain reaction that saw the Amazon-owned site attempt to take action so a situation like Sliker's wouldn't happen again.

In the wake of the ban, streamers like xQc have come forward and admitted they knew gambling streams were "wrong." But that doesn't mean that everyone is in agreement. Kopf seems to be leading the charge against the ban and warning that Twitch is going to far by naming certain sites and services that can't be discussed on its platform.

Corinna Kopf

Kopf went on her own live stream and said that if Twitch can ban gambling streams, it won't be long before the site starts to take action against other "unhealthy" habits. She then went on to blame the "softness" of certain Twitch viewers for the site putting the kind of measures in place it has since the gambling streams started getting so much negative attention.

Corinna Kopf is certainly no stranger to controversy of her own, but this time she's less involved directly in the issue and seemingly feels as though she could suffer from a kind of collateral damage. “Everyone is so soft nowadays,” she claimed on her stream. “You are influenced to do so many things that are not good for you financially, physically, and mentally every day." She then went on to say that she thinks that sooner or later, streamers won't be able to smoke or drink on their broadcasts because someone is worried that it will unduly influence their viewers.

Kopf went on to say that she believed that it should be the player's "decision" whether or not they should gamble or talk about gambling on their channel. She doesn't believe that Twitch should be going out of its way to shut down talk about the subject outright.
