For those who enjoy games like Minecraft, and Terraria, Core Keeper just might be up their alley. Core Keeper is a survival sandbox game that can be played with up to 8 different players. As an explorer, players find themselves in a deep and ancient cavern. The cavern holds many trials and tribulations to test the player's survival skills and rewards those who actively explore. Just like in Minecraft and Terraria, players have the ability to craft different items and equipment to help them in their journey.

Tools, armor, torches and so much more can be crafted by the hands of the player. They can also grow and farm crops, which is key to survival in the subterranean world of Core Keeper. Players then use these crops to make themselves food which can give a number of different benefits from better health regeneration, to different buffs. Experimenting and discovering what recipes one can create and the effects they have is a part of the gameplay, but there are a few food recipes that everyone should be aware of to make their time in Core Keeper the best it can be.

6 Hearty Pepper Wrap

With the way cooking works in Core Keeper, the recipes that will give the best effects and the most buffs are made from rare raw ingredients. Many of these ingredients can only be gotten later in the game, so it will take some time before players can make them when they first start out. But a few really great recipes can be made early on.

One of them is the Hearty Pepper Wrap. A Hearty Pepper Wrap is made by using a Bomb Pepper and Heart Berry, and both are two of the main crops that a player can have early in the game. A Hearty Pepper Wrap has the following effects; it gives +28 food, +21.0 movement speed for 1 minute, +25 max health for 5 minutes, and +2.8 health every second for 20 seconds.

5 Yellow Pepper Wrap

Another early-game recipe that's one of the best is the Yellow Pepper Wrap. To make this recipe players have to use one Bomb Pepper and one Yellow Blister Head. The Yellow Blister Head is a fish that can be caught in the water of the Clay Caves. The Clay Caves is one of the first biomes a player will encounter.

It is more dangerous than the Dirt biome with all the Larva Enemies that spawn constantly and the clay walls are harder to mine through. But it's worth going through all the difficulty because the Yellow Pepper Wrap gives +32 food, +21.0% movement speed for 1 minute, +2.6 health every second for 20 seconds, and immunity towards being slowed by slime for 30 seconds. This recipe is great for battling against the first and second bosses of the game.

4 Giant Mushroom Salad

Core Keeper Recipe for Giant Mushroom Salad

The Giant Mushroom is a rare food item that will only spawn 1 to 2 times per map, typically, making it something that shouldn't be used recklessly. Eating it raw will give a player +15 food and permanently increase their health by +25. Cooking it offers more benefits as it will give +31 food, +25 max health, and an additional +24 max health for 5 minutes.

The best Giant Mushroom recipe and the best health-related recipe is the Giant Mushroom Salad. If a player is lucky to have 2 spawn on their map, they can make this recipe with 2 Giant Mushrooms. It gives +39 food, +24 max health for 5 minutes, and an amazing +50 permanent max health.

3 Moldy Pepper Wrap

The Moldy Pepper Wrap is a recipe that can be made once a player reaches the Azeos' Wilderness and catches a Mold Shark. A Mold Shark is a common fish with a 50% catch rate, but it is only available in the Mold Dungeon of the Azeos Wilderness, which is the last biome available in the game, at this point in time.

1 Rare And Epic Version Recipes

Red circle around the Expert Garderner Skill and the Master Chef skill

When a player levels up one of their skills 5 times, they will earn a Talent Point, which can be spent on that skill's Talent Tree. There are 4 tiers to each skill and one of the skills that players will want to work on leveling up is the Gardening skill. When a player reaches Tier 4 they can get the Expert Gardener skill that will make it possible for the player to grow a golden version of their crops. At its base level, it gives a +3% chance of that occurring, increasing by +3% with every rank they gain in that skill. Using the golden version of an ingredient will always give the player a Rare version, which will give them an even bigger boost in their stats.

For example, with the Rare Moldy Pepper Wrap, which is made with a Mold Shark and a Golden Bomb Pepper, players will get +40 food, 33.6% movement speed for 1 minute and 18 seconds, +3.8% melee attack speed for 1 minute and 18 seconds, +6.0 health every second for 26 seconds, +48.2% melee damage for 7 minutes and 30 seconds, and depending on what rank a player's Expert Garden Skill is, it will give them between +3-15% damage against bosses.

Even better than the Rare versions of food are the Epic versions. Players can make Epic versions of their recipes if they get the Master Chef skill. The Master Chef skill makes the chance of additional food from cooking rare. So using normal ingredients with this skill could gain players rare versions and using golden versions of ingredients could gain them Epic versions.
