For farmers in the cozy game genre, rainy days are perfect for skipping a few chores. For those that have played enough farming sims, it almost comes as a breath of fresh air when water plants can wait for the next day. A big chunk of time is wasted on watering plants, sometimes taking up half or all day depending on how big the players farming plot is. But thankfully in Coral Island, like many farming sims, the rain gives players the opportunity to move on to a different task or adventure. If players are curious when their next rainy day is, check out the TV in the farmhouse that provides a weather channel, from there the players can know what the weather will be like on the next day.

But this can also have setbacks, especially for players who have spent so much time on the farm they don't know what to do on a day off. Coral Island has several interesting activities, it can be hard to narrow down what players should do. Thankfully, there is a list of activities that players can focus on. Depending on where the player is in the game, some activities are better than others, but most options are a great choice. These are some of the best ways to spend a rainy day in Coral Island.

6 Chat With Villagers

Coral Island has an extensive list of villagers. With over 50 characters to befriend, and 25 characters to romance if players want to, it can be hard to find every single person every day. But rainy days might be a great time to branch out and meet new people players haven't had the chance to find.

A lot of characters tend to stay inside on rainy days, which can make it easier than trying to find them around the Island. Taking the time to stop in and give friends some gifts is a great way to spend a rainy day, especially since getting to know some characters helps progress the game.

5 Explore The Caverns

The caverns are similar to the mines in Stardew Valley, however, there are some aspects that are very different. While Stardew Valley has one mine that goes down over 100 floors, the caverns in Coral Island branch off into four separate sections based on elements. Since the game is currently in Early Access, there are only two out of the four caverns available to players at the moment, but hopefully more will be available soon.

As of right now, players have access to both the Earth and Water caverns, while Air and Fire are currently unavailable. But this is still plenty of content for players to enjoy. From battling monsters, to mining rocks for resources like gems and artifacts, players can a long time in the caverns. Just make sure not to lose track of time, as passing out has some consequences.

4 Clean The Ocean

While it might be dangerous to go into the ocean when it's storming in real life, gaming logic says otherwise. While the rain is water crops and leaving the morning empty, players might as well take a dive into the ocean for the day. The ocean provides a large amount of resources, as well as plethora of story to unlock, but it can be a hefty task to take on, as it takes up so much time and energy.

Cleaning up the ocean and healing sections is a great way to spend the day, but like the caverns, make sure to keep track of the energy bar as well as the time. Passing out in the ocean is a risk that players need to keep an eye on.

3 Shop In Town

It's not every day that players can spend their time getting to a shop when there is so much to do around the farm. From feeding and tending to animals, to tending to the various crops, it can be hard to truly get away. Shopping is an amazing choice for rainy days, as it offers players more time to look around and the different shops and options that are available. While not every store is open every day, there might be some stores that players haven't looked into yet.

From Antonio's clothing shop, to the furniture, to even Ben's Caravan that sells items between 8am-9pm on Saturday and Sunday. There is also a secret store in the abandoned house next to the caverns. If players walk near it, a monkey will hop out of the window and will sell various items.

2 Fish

Fishing is another lengthy task. When the game first released, it took some time to catch any fish, but thankfully after some updates, players are now able to catch fish more easily. But this still doesn't mean that it's a quick activity. Players should usually try to plan a day out just for fishing, as it can take a long time to catch a hefty amount.

Between donating new fish, to selling the rest, as well as keeping a few for recipes, players can get a decent reward for spending the day on this job. Remember though that some fish only come out on specific seasons, locations, weather, and time, so check out this guide for specifics on which fish to look for.

1 Decorate The Farm

Farmer walking through their farm in Coral Island

If running around seems too strenuous for players, and they would rather have a more relaxing day on the farm than run around to do more activities, players can choose to decorate their home. Between the land on their property to their home, players have enough space to decorate.

Don't forget the players can also move their farm buildings if they want to change the layout of their farm, so they're not stuck to the same position. This is not only a soothing way to spend the day, but also helps the players feel a little bit more organized than before.
