Remedy Entertainment's Control has just released to strong reviews, and players are now taking Jesse Faden up against the Hiss in this exciting new action game. However, as players try to determine how long it takes to beat Control firsthand, they are likely to encounter some obstacles along the way. One of these obstacles comes in the Control mission "What A Mess," which tasks players with getting to a pump station and clearing a clog.

For those that may be stuck trying to clear the clog in Control, the task is not extremely difficult, provided you know how to unlock the pump station doors. Indeed, unlocking the pump station doors in Control requires players to solve a short puzzle, and the solution to that puzzle is included after this video, which outlines how to get to pump station in Control.

How to Unlock Pump Station Doors in Control

To unlock Control's pump room doors, begin by approaching the first locked door. To the right is a ledge to climb on. Up top, look down and to the left to see a cube on the ground. Use the Control ability that allows you to pick up this cube and insert it into the cavity in the wall to the right of the locked closet door below.

Inserting this cube will unlock this closet down. Inside the closet is another cube. Take this cube, climb back up from where you just descended, and head back to where you encountered the first locked door.

Insert the cube into a wall cavity directly to the left of the first locked door. Now, climb back up and grab the cube that is holding the closet door open. Insert it into the wall cavity directly across from the first locked door to activate the draining pump in Control, clear the clog, and complete "What a Mess."

While this puzzle may sound complex due to the several steps that it entails, most players will eventually crack the code. The video included above will also assist those that prefer a visual, and the section focused on unlocking pump station doors in Remedy's Control game begins at timestamp 4:49. While this video contains some unnecessary steps, the visual reference will certainly prove helpful to those trying to unlock Control's pump station doors.

Control is now available for the PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
