The new NBA 2K20 has Davis as the cover star on the basic edition and Dwyane Wade on the Legend Edition. The MyCAREER mode is back as well as the MyTEAM mode and more. The new game will hit the Xbox One, PS4, and Nintendo Switch.

7 NHL 20

Hockey fans have a new game coming as well from EA Sports called NHL 20. The game, available for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, follows NFL 19, possibly the best next-generation hockey game available on current consoles.

The new hockey game promises signature shots from significant NHL superstars and better command of shots from all around the ice. It also offers improved controls when it comes to goalie saves and hopefully, improved commentators. There is also a new battle royale mode called Eliminator to give gamers something extra to play around with when not in season.

6 BORDERLANDS 3

Borderlands 3 is coming this year with some amazing down-and-dirty battles. This videogame franchise retains its dark humor to go along with the violent and destructive fighting that gamers love so much. The best news is that this franchise is not trying to mimic other looter shooters like Destiny. It is just doubling down on what made fans fall in love with the series in the first place.

From early reviews, Borderlands 3 is a tighter, better version of the second game. The gunplay is also improved, with advanced reviews saying the various guns all felt different and perfect in their own ways. For fans who want fun and silly violence, this is the game to buy in 2019.

What better present can the Nintendo Switch give fans at the end of 2019 than a new Legend of Zelda game? While this one is a remake and not completely new, Link's Awakening should have Nintendo fans in Heaven this holiday season.

The original game was released on the Game Boy in 1993 and Nintendo has chosen to do more than just port the old title. Instead, Nintendo presents Link's Awakening in full 3D and a chibi art style. The soundtrack was also re-recorded. However, don't let the changes in design turn you off, because this is the same Legends of Zelda styled game fans have always adored.

4 FIFA 20

There is still a new soccer game coming in the later months of 2019, with FIFA 20 on the way. The FIFA games are always a treat for soccer fans, and this year looks to be more of the same. There have been improvements made when it comes to players moving at a more realistic speed in comparison to each other.

With the desire for more realism in the game, the basic gameplay engine remains the same, so do not expect any huge alterations when it comes to controls and playability. Plus, the Volta mode here, where the gameplay merges street soccer with professional soccer in a new fun addition adding a lot of added value outside the basic seasonal play.

The next WWE game hitting consoles in 2019 is WWE 2K20. There are two cover models for this game with "The Man" Becky Lynch sharing duties with Roman Reigns. Just about every WWE superstar is in the game, with some popular legends. But, the big news is that Bray Wyatt's Fiend is a pre-order special and part of the first DLC pack.

The 2K Towers Mode returns with a story based around the career of Roman Reigns, which includes 16 matches. The Women's Evolution mode will also allow a player to experience the story of this groundbreaking movement. MyCAREER is back as is the Mixed Tag Team Match.

1 DEATH STRANDING

Arguably, the most exciting video game announced for the end of 2019 for consoles is Death Stranding. Honestly, every trailer and first look image that comes out makes this look less and less like a video game. Norman Reedus' character looks just like Norman Reedus.

The same is true for the other actors and characters in the game. The crazy thing is that no one knows what this game is about, outside of the fact that it appears to be an open-world experience. The mystery, the jaw-dropping graphics, and the excellent voice cast make this the most anticipated original videogame release of 2019.
