Television talk show host Conan O'Brien is no video game expert; in fact, he's far from it. That's why he has a segment on his show called "Clueless Gamer" where he gets a celebrity to join him as he plays a brand new game. Conan and his famous guests have played all sorts of games, including Middle-earth: Shadow of War and Final Fantasy 15.

In the latest Clueless Gamer segment, Conan brings in Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers to play Assassin's Creed Origins. After poking a bit of fun at Rodgers' unfortunate football injury, O'Brien and the athlete get sucked into Ubisoft's open-world adventure, showing off the sheer scale of the Ancient Egypt-set game.

The two men test out the various activities that Assassin's Creed Origins has to offer, including riding a chariot through the streets, immediately mowing down pedestrians like the game is called Grand Theft Chariot. Genuinely highlighting the "Clueless" in "Clueless Gamer," Rodgers and O'Brien manage to get mauled by a group of angry hippos. Incredibly, they ride a chariot into an enemy camp, get set on fire and manage to get that same chariot stuck on a wall.

The Clueless Gamers also activate "God Mode" which allows protagonist Bayek to be immune from damage by flapping his arms like a chicken. It's a developer-only mode that isn't in the full version of the game, and the Ubisoft representative was surprised that O'Brien and Rodgers had successfully enabled it.

The segment is pretty hilarious, but it does highlight some of the concerns raised in several Assassin's Creed Origins reviews. Several reviews of the new game said that the experience is hampered by technical issues and bugs such as that chariot glitch. Although Origins has received a significant day one patch that may fix some of these problems, it's understandable if some viewers have doubts.

These reviews also suggested that Origins may be a little bit off-putting to newcomers. Assassin's Creed Origins has a vast open-world, full of iconic monuments and locations from the history books, but the game may not be so welcoming to Clueless Gamers. The two men were overwhelmed right from the start and newcomers may be even less used to this sort of game or this sort of action.

Then again, the segment may only make the game more appealing to some fans. It could be tricky for those who aren't well-versed in action RPGs, but it could be great fun taking on ancient Egypt with a couple of buddies. And for a lot of people, that's a significant selling point.

Assassin's Creed Origins is out now on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
