Call of Duty fans have been impressed with the changes made to Vanguard since its open beta, and the game now looks as though it could be a fan favorite for years to come. Frequent Call of Duty players will be very familiar with many of the weapons available in Call of Duty: Vanguard. The game sees a number of fan favorites return, not least of all the MP-40. As weapons go, the MP-40 ranks among the most iconic in Call of Duty, and it has often proved useful in previous titles. Call Of Duty Vanguard Viewing The MP-40 At The Gunsmith

One classic Call of Duty weapon that has made a triumphant return in Vanguard is the MP-40, which, due to being the first unlocked SMG, has been widely used since launch. Alongside Call of Duty: Vanguard’s STG44, the MP-40 has been the most commonly seen gun in the game, with some gamers seeing no reason to move on as they unlock more weapons. The MP-40 is an iconic weapon in the Call of Duty series, featuring as one of the most popular weapons in World at War as well as fairly prominently in Black Ops zombies’ Kino Der Toten. From the early signs, it looks as though the MP-40 could enjoy similar success in Vanguard.

As is the case with Call of Duty: Vanguard’s assault rifles, it seems as though the game’s SMGs give players the best it has to offer up first. Where stats are concerned, the MP-40 is rivalled only by the Sten and the M1928, which offer improved speed and ammo capacity respectively, but also come with reductions in other areas. The strength of the MP-40 has been acknowledged by the Call of Duty community, so it’s possible that a nerf could be on its way, although there’s no word on that as of yet. For now, Vanguard is a haven for CoD nostalgia, with two classic guns battling it out for the top spot.

Best Gunsmith Attachments for the MP-40 in Call of Duty: Vanguard

While on a base level, the MP-40 is already one of the strongest options for players, and things only get better when dipping into Call of Duty: Vanguard’s gunsmith. By adding attachments to the MP-40, players can make the gun even more well-rounded, or they can lean into the gun's better attributes, making it a machine at close range. Players may choose to have two different class setups for mid-long range maps, or they may choose to create one class for every situation. As other guns may offer players a better option for long-range combat, however, they may be better served building upon the MP-40’s stronger attributes.

The number one attachment players should add to their MP-40 is the Mercury Silencer. As players will be looking to get up close and personal with enemy players, they’ll want to be sneaking around the map, and the Mercury Silencer will help them to do so. Next up is the Krausnick 33M Folding Stock, which will improve sprint to fire speed and movement speed, albeit with reductions to initial accuracy. Add to this the SMLE Pistol Grip, which improves sprint to fire speed and hip-fire accuracy and the MP-40 becomes a formidable weapon up close. Call of Duty: Vanguard Operators offer XP bonuses for their favorite weapons, and in the case of the MP-40, it is Halima’s favorite weapon. This means players will level the MP-40 up faster when playing as Halima, which is a nice added bonus.

Call of Duty: Vanguard is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
