A lead designer behind Company of Heroes and a member of the Relic Entertainment team, Brian Wood, has been lost due to a fatal car accident. His memory will surely live on to be remembered in the heart and soul of his pregnant wife that he died to protect. An out of control car had been heading on a collision course with his vehicle, while his pregnant wife was in the passenger seat. He took it upon himself to hit the brakes and make a sharp turn so his side of the vehicle would be towards the oncoming car.

The Washington State Patrol said that they found evidence of drug use within the other vehicle, and that the people in the SUV had prior convictions. The back seat passengers Jacob Quistorf and Francis Malloy were pronounced dead on-scene. However, the driver, Jordyn Weichert and front seat passenger, Samantha Bowling are still alive. Jordyn Weichert faces charges for Vehicular Assault and Samantha Bowling is hospitalized with a hip injury, though she is under investigation for the same charges because she may have grabbed the wheel.

When Brian's wife Erin was asked about the accident she said:

"At the very last second [Brian] braked really hard and turned right so that he would be put in the path of the SUV and not me and the baby, and that is the only thing that saved us both,"..."I am not going to waste the gift he gave us."

And when she was asked about her husband she said that he was:

"...the most amazing warm-hearted man you would ever meet who loved his job, loved his family, and was just my rock."

A touching event that no doubt will reach the heart of more than just his wife Erin Wood and unborn child who survived unscathed. An act of selflessness and bravery, the showing of a true hero.

Rest in peace Brian Wood, you will be remembered.
