Several months ago, the publisher Bandai Namco Entertainment told gaming fans to Prepare to Dine by releasing a teaser trailer that was eventually revealed to be the forthcoming action role-playing game known as Code Vein. Now, the publisher has decided to charm fans even more so with the game's dark anime style by unveiling even more information about the title by putting out a brand new story trailer during Tokyo Game Show 2017's festivities.

As seen in the story trailer below for Code Vein, gamers are introduced to a tale involving what appears to be a post-apocalyptic vampire-infested wasteland, as players are tasked with defeating a mysterious, as-yet-unnamed Queen who is out to control all of the remaining blood resources in the world. In addition to the plot, fans can also get a better look at a few new characters, as well as some combat elements, with the footage focusing heavily a battle between one of the Queen's Knight Bosses.

When it comes to Code Vein's combat gameplay, the action-RPG seems to take several cues from the well-known Dark Souls series, as evasion tactics and precision hits are par for the course in order to defeat the title's Lost baddies. Not to mention, the design of the enemies are somewhat similar to those in FromSoftware's notoriously difficult franchise, with there being several hulking beasts, as well as creatures with demonic and undead aspects to them.

Those who wish to get a better look at Code Vein would do well to check out these screenshots of the game, as they showcase several environments, two assist characters, two Lost enemies, and much more. Thankfully, with the action-RPG slated to release sometime next year, fans should expect Bandai Namco Entertainment to be sharing plenty more in-game assets to offer a more comprehensive idea of what Code Vein contains.

Code Vein is set to release in early 2018 for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
