Those drawn to the unique anime style and dark themes of the dungeon-crawler, action RPG Code Vein may have signed up to test the game awhile back. Now, their wait is over. Bandai Namco is currently sending out invites for players to participate in a Code Vein network test running through the weekend.

The style of Code Vein is best described as an anime-inspired Dark Souls, which is exactly why many are drawn to it. Anyone who signed up to test out Code Vein should check their inboxes because Bandai Namco is sending out invites at this very moment for the game's network stress test. Don't forget to check spam folders, just in case the invite made its way there.

The network test is already in full swing, but is only available this weekend, so invitees should join in while they can. The Code Vein network test will run until Monday, June 3, at 12 AM PST. To accompany the test, Bandai Namco also released a short behind the scenes video. To get the skinny on details about the game's story and development, it is worth a look.

During the test, players will get to experience the character creation system and the opening chapters of Code Vein. This includes two areas - Ruined City Underground and Depths: Town of Sacrifice. The experience will include plenty of story cutscenes, with Bandai Namco promising many more in the full game. Anyone who needs a refresher on the game's story should check out the Code Vein story trailer that released a while back.

A network test can only mean that Code Vein is entering the final stages of development. Which is good news, as this indicates that no more delays should be expected. The original release was scheduled for September of last year, but the game has since been delayed until 2019. Bandai Namco still has not set a new release date, however. Even the behind the scenes trailer states a loose 2019 window, but perhaps the game will be out this fall.

Code Vein releases sometime in 2019 for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
