Club Nintendo is one of the coolest things about having a Nintendo system or handheld. Every time gamers purchase a Nintendo-made game or console, they receive a code that can be used to register the product online. After registering the product, the Big N will credit that individual’s account with faux currency called Coins which can then be spent on a variety of different prizes.

Long-time users of the Club Nintendo service may have noticed that the service was recently given a rather significant facelift, but the site’s layout isn’t the only thing that Nintendo updated.

The Japanese-based giant has once again added brand new prizes to the program. Most notably, gamers can now put their hard-earned coins towards the purchase of downloadable games for the Wii, DS, or 3DS. The games in question certainly aren’t the best downloadable titles available on each console, but favorites such as Super Mario Kart and Mario vs. Donkey Kong: Minis March Again are solid gifts for the Nintendo faithful.

There aren’t many games to choose from at the moment, but the fact that Club Nintendo is offering downloadable titles is a promising step in the right direction. Take a look at the available titles below.

Wii

  • Super Mario Kart (100 Coins)
  • Fluidity (150 Coins)

DSi

  • Mario vs. Donkey Kong: Mini March Again (150 Coins)

3DS

  • 3D Classics: Xevious (100 Coins)

Along with the new games, Club Nintendo has also added a new Legend of Zelda 25th anniversary poster set, Peach & Mario, Boo, and Donkey Kong notebooks, and a new pencil case that comes in both red or blue. The Legend of Zelda poster set is beyond awesome, and hardcore fans of The Legend of Zelda franchise will definitely want to get their hands on it.

It’s awesome that Nintendo has begun rewarding loyal fans of their products with games and collector’s items. On top of Nintendo offering downloadable NES and GBA games to early adopters of the Nintendo 3DS, gamers can also look forward to receiving 3D Classics: Kid Icarus for free if they register at least two games this holiday season. It’s certainly an opportune time to be a Nintendo fan, that’s for sure.
