There are very few video game creators as influential to the industry as Cliff "Cliffy B" Bleszinski. Bleszinski is the creator of the Gears of War franchise, which essentially invented the cover-based shooting mechanics that can be found in nearly every third-person action game these days. His last few games have been ill-fated, but it seems that the developer now has a new idea in his head, according to one of his posts on Twitter.

Bleszinski didn't really elaborate on what the idea was, simply that it wasn't "a f****** Battle Royale game". Back in November, Bleszinski said that he was never making another game, so it's not clear if this game will ever actually come to fruition. That being said, in Bleszinksi's Tweet he does state, "I thought I was truly done", which indicates he's likely looking at jumping back into the games industry.

There are endless possibilities as far as what Bleszinski is cooking up in his head. His previous studio, Bosskey Productions, closed down after its first two games, Lawbreakers and Radical Heights, failed to find audiences in two already-bloated markets. After the closure, Bleszinski took to Twitter to show off concept art from other games the studio was planning, some of which involved hatching and raising dragons. It's possible Bleszinski could be circling back and expanding on one of those ideas, or this could be something entirely new, which, given his language, seems to be the more likely answer.

Cliff Bleszinski's current project is a musical, which seemed quite odd at first considering his past projects. It isn't clear if he would abandon his current path to return to game development. Bleszinski is also currently writing a book, so it goes without saying that the creator has quite a bit on his plate at the moment.

Even if Bleszinski does get back into the games industry, it will be quite some time until anyone gets their hands on this new game. Bleszinski would still need to find or create a studio to make the project, get it funded, and get it made, a process that usually takes years. He could release a game into early access, but even that would be months away at the very least. There's also the possibility that this game doesn't get made, and the world only gets concept art of what could have been.
