Cliff Bleszinski, also known as CliffyB, is a well-known veteran of the video games industry and creator of the Gears of War series. Now, after taking a short break after the shut down of his studio, Boss Key, he has started teasing a new project that he has been working on.

Bleszinski got his start working on various projects at Epic Games but really became a big name in the industry with his helming of the Gears of War series that started in 2006. CliffyB left Epic Games in 2012 and retired from games until he returned in 2014 with his own studio, Boss Key. At Boss Key, Bleszinski developed the hero shooter LawBreakers, which struggled to find an audience. The title was quickly followed by the early access battle royale Radical Heights which also struggled to find an audience, leading to the studio's closure and Bleszinski's second retirement in 2018.

But Bleszinski seems unable to stay away from the games industry for long, as he has started teasing an upcoming project that he has been working on. In the tweet, Bleszinski says that having to wait to say anything about the title has been "agonizing." In the replies to the tweet, Bleszinski also says that it doesn't have chainsaws, confirming for fans that it is not a new Gears of War title, which is famous for its Lancer weapon that is an assault rifle with a chainsaw on it.

In another tweet, Bleszinski said that he had a meeting over Zoom with Rami Ismail, an independent game developer, and games industry consultant. In a reply to Bleszinski, Ismail stated "It's so good that I need updates." Little is known about the project, but with Bleszinski's history of developing shooters, there is a strong chance that the new title will be some type of shooter. However, back in October Bleszinski did state that the success of games like Fall Guys and Among Us had inspired him to return to the industry and release a smaller title, so anything could be possible.

In his time away from the industry, Bleszinski has been working on a memoir about his time in the games industry and his life. He has also been keeping busy with investments and co-producing the Broadway musical Hadestown, which went on to win eight Tony Awards. There is no knowing how long fans will have to wait to hear more about what Bleszinski has in store, but hopefully, he is able to give some new details sooner rather than later.
