With Grand Theft Auto 5 being the most-profitable entertainment product of all time and Red Dead Redemption 2 releasing to near-universal critical acclaim, it's no surprise that many are wondering are excited to see what's next for Rockstar Games. Rockstar itself has yet to make any announcements about its next game, but one thing is for certain, whatever Rockstar is working on, it won't include Chris "Young Maylay" Bellard.

For the uninitiated, Young Maylay is a rapper who played the role of Carl "CJ" Johnson in Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. Despite being a voice actor in one of the most popular video games of all time, it doesn't appear as though Young Maylay has done voice work for a video game since San Andreas. It's not clear why that is, but it is clear that Maylay has a grudge against Rockstar Games for some reason.

Responding to rumors that Grand Theft Auto 6 would feature CJ, Maylay took to Instagram to deny his involvement with the game outright. In the same post, he also said, "F*** Rockstar Games," and that if CJ does appear in GTA 6, the character would have to be played by someone else. At the time of this writing, Young Maylay has yet to explain what exactly happened between him and Rockstar Games.

While some fans may be disappointed to learn that Young Maylay won't be reprising the role of CJ anytime soon, it's strange that anyone would fall for that particular rumor at all. When it comes to Grand Theft Auto games, Rockstar Games has always gone with new protagonists each time. If it was going to make a followup to San Andreas starring Young Maylay as CJ, one would think that it would have happened years ago instead of 16 years after the fact.

In the meantime, speculation will continue to run rampant about Rockstar's next game. A new rumor about Rockstar's next project seems to pop up just about everyday, and the rumors will likely persist until Rockstar itself finally makes an official announcement.

As for when Rockstar might finally unveil Grand Theft Auto 6 or whatever it's next game happens to be, that's unclear. However, rumors are that Sony is going to show the PS5 soon, so maybe Rockstar's next game will be showcased alongside the new console.

Grand Theft Auto 6 is rumored to be in development for unspecified platforms.
