According to a number of recent leaks, Sid Meier's Civilization 6 is poised to receive a new batch of DLC packs with Leader Pass content, and the latest leak suggests that developer Firaxis may be preparing a more substantial batch of content than just a slew of new leaders to choose from. Having originally launched in 2016, Civ 6 has received a number of expansion packs since its launch, with the New Frontier Pass DLC being its latest official offering.

While some may feel that Civilization 6 is long overdue for a sequel at this point, Firaxis appears to have more plans for the game before it's all wrapped up. Namely, the game's mobile website was recently updated with a new piece of artwork featuring four entirely new leaders, including Abraham Lincoln himself. This information corroborates an entirely different leak sourced from Billibilli, a Chinese media website, which was posted before the image was uploaded.

Though Civilization 6's Leader Pass is yet to be officially corroborated in any capacity, a mounting list of evidence suggests that this DLC is, indeed, well underway. CivFanatics forum users have uncovered the original Billibilli leak and translated it, revealing that it has a bunch of key information that, while possibly false, certainly rings true. According to CivFantatics user xxhe, who translated the Billibilli content, Leader Pass content will be released over the course of six months, possibly starting in mid-November 2022. There should be six DLCs in total, and they will include new leaders, a variety of new scenarios, and possibly even additional game modes, as was the case with the New Frontier Pass.

Naturally, it's worth keeping a pinch of salt at hand about this leak, but it appears to be fairly believable in general. While Civilization 6 has some iconic leaders, it's fair to say that it's always had a few notable omissions, and everything points to the Leader Pass being Firaxis' attempt at righting this wrong. Leaks suggest that Zhu Di and Wu Zetian, specifically, may be on the roster alongside the leaders featured in the promotional image.

It may be worth pointing out that Civilization 6 now has a rather substantive competitor on the market, too. Paradox Interactive's Victoria 3 already has a content update plan, and many of its own features go beyond anything found in Firaxis' civilization-building title.

Everything points to the next Civ game being rather far in the future at this time, and the Leader Pass may be Firaxis' attempt at keeping Civilization 6 in the limelight for as long as possible, popular though it might be in its own right. Fans believe that Civilization 7 should learn from Civ 6, but it goes without saying that many fans are hoping for Firaxis to take things to the next level.

Sid Meier's Civilization 6 is available now on Mobile, PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One.
