Food plays an extremely important role in Citizen Sleeper, and players will not survive for long if they do not adequately address their energy bars. While this is made quite clear during the in-game tutorial, there is no indication of exactly how fans should go about obtaining the food that they need so desperately. The absence of this information may leave some players confused about how to eat in Citizen Sleeper, and this guide is here to point them in the right direction.

Citizen Sleeper: How to Get Food

There are two ways to get food near the beginning of Citizen Sleeper, and both require players to put some action dice toward certain clocks on the Eye. The first clock that indie video game fans can pursue is called Local Knowledge, and it is situated in the Bright Market. Notably, there are two actions that grant Local Knowledge progress, Ask for Directions and Explore the Market, and players that are hungry should work toward earning at least two ticks on that clock.

After reaching two ticks on the Local Knowledge clock, cyberpunk video game fans will find that a new location has appeared in the vicinity of Citizen Sleeper's Bright Market. That location is Emphis's Stall, a street food stand that players can visit to obtain some complimentary nourishment that will replenish three ticks on the energy bar. Players can then return to the stall during later cycles to obtain even more food, though it will have a cost of 15 cryo on subsequent visits.

Alternatively, players can go through the Rotunda for food if that is their preference. This is done by getting at least two ticks on the Dock Watcher clock in Citizen Sleeper, which can be earned through both the Steal Dock Plans and Explore the Rotunda actions. Indeed, making Dock Watcher progress will give TTRPG fans access to the Rotunda's Overlook Bar, where they can buy rations that restore two ticks on the energy bar for 10 cryo.

While players should ultimately plan to unlock both Emphis's Stall and the Overlook Bar, it is perhaps preferable to go for the former first. This is recommended because there is another establishment opened through making clock progress at the Bright Market, and it is connected to one of the very first drives in this indie RPG. It is absolutely not requisite that fans take this approach, though, and they should feel free to pursue the Rotunda and its bar first if that seems like the more-interesting option.

Citizen Sleeper is available on PC, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
