Circus Electrique is a rather unique title. It is an interesting role-playing game (otherwise known as RPG) that is themed around circuses and performers. All attacks and party members revolve around the wild, wacky world that is the circus, helping to set it apart from some of the other great indie games released in recent years.

This unique premise will be what brings many people to Circus Electrique. Of course, some people will be able to instantly pick the game up and get straight to playing. However, others may be struggling to get used to some of the game's more interesting mechanics and may need some beginner tips to help them on their way.

7 The Strongman is a Good All-Rounder

Circus Electrique - Circus

It is no secret to anyone who plays the game for a bit that the Strongman is one of the best characters to have in their party. He is a very good all-rounder unit for a player to put in their team.

Seeing as he is the Strongman, he can offer both tankiness and some really good damage. Overall, he may not have the highest stats in every category, but he is still really good and can stand on his own.

6 Manage the Devotion

Something that players will have to manage in Circus Electrique is the Devotion of the player's team. Essentially, the Devotion stat is a good way for a player to see how their team is doing, and managing the Devotion stat is a good way to make sure that their team is ready to go.

Managing Devotion is something very important that every player should do. With high enough Devotion, there will be higher chances of the circus being able to complete activities (and therefore cause the show to become more popular, which, in turn, leads to the player gaining more resources for crafting).

5 Go for Upgrading the Train First

Circus Electrique - Bear

As a player goes through the game, they will gain the ability to upgrade parts of their circus with the right amount of resources. As it turns out, upgrading the train is going to be one of the best choices a player makes in both short and long-term gameplay.

With the train, a player will be able to ensure that their characters have more talents. Additionally, more classes will be unlocked the higher level the train is, along with increasing the max level of performers. There is absolutely no downside to upgrading the Train.

4 Only Carry the Most Essential Items

Circus Electrique - Character Select

When a player goes out to fight, they will be allowed to take items with their team, which can be used to aid them in battle. However, it would be in the player's best interest to only bring along the most essential of items, and nothing more.

While it may seem tempting to bring the entire supply of items, it would really be a good idea to only bring a little bit. This way, a player can cycle through things quicker. Players will soon figure out some items are better than others (such as the Goo or the Bandage).

3 Remember to Keep Performing

Circus Electrique - Attacking

The show must go on. In Circus Electrique, this is taken to a whole new level. Performing is how a player will be able to get all the materials that they need to progress through the game.

As a player performs, they will gain more and more Performance Stars. These stars will make their circus more and more infamous, which will give the performers more experience, provide resources for crafting, and allow players to upgrade more.

2 Positions are Actually Important

Circus Electrique - Performers

This may sound a bit weird, but it is actually very important to set up which performers are positioned in which areas. Positioning can actually be what ends up making or breaking a team in some cases.

Not every character works well on the front lines and not every character will thrive in the back. However, the Strongman is one of the units who do best in the front, due to the tankiness and high damage that he brings to the party. Supporting units should usually stay at the back to ensure that there is some line of protection against the enemies.

1 Save Up On Group Skills

Circus Electrique - Choosing

While there are a lot of single target skills that are also very strong in their own right, group skills are a special breed and should really be saved up. A player should not spend their group skills willy-nilly and risk having them on cool down when they really need it.

Group skills deal damage to multiple units at once. Though they do not do as much damage as a single target attack, it would be best to use these when there are one or more enemies with low HP. This way, the damage will be dealt to kill off an enemy and weaken another.

Circus Electrique is available on PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, Microsoft Windows, Xbox Series X and Series S, and PlayStation 5.
