Prism and Spectral gear is among the best equipment in Chrono Cross, and there are a number of requirements that players must fulfill before they can craft it. One of those requirements is to obtain the Master Hammer, though the way that is done can be a bit confusing. This guide is here to walk fans through the process of earning Chrono Cross's Master Hammer, and it should put players on the path to creating their very own Rainbow equipment.
To note, players should make sure that they have recruited Zappa before they put much effort toward obtaining the Rainbow hammer. This can be done by putting Radius into a fan's Chrono Cross party and speaking with Zappa in his smithy in Termina (Home World). For full clarity, that smithy is one screen to the right and one screen up from the entrance to Termina.

Beat Sage on S.S. Zelbess (Home World)
The first step toward obtaining the Master Hammer is to progress the main story and reach the S.S. Zelbess (Home World). Upon boarding this cruise ship, players should work through its scenario, ultimately beating Fargo in Chrono Cross's roulette mini-game. This win will give fans access to a previously-blocked portion of the Zelbess, where they will find the Sage sweeping.
Players should now chase down the Sage, who will move in and out of the openings in the ship, and question him about the Dead Sea. In this conversation, players should indicate that they will use brute force if needed to trigger a fight with the NPC. Defeating the Sage will cause Nikki to appear, and fans should now return to the deck of the boat, climb the tower to the left, ride the lift to Nikki's boat, and accept his request.
Restore Marbule (Home World)
With Nikki's request accepted, players can focus on fulfilling it by saving Marbule (Home World) in Chrono Cross. To perform this act, fans should put Fargo into their parties, board the S.S. Zelbess (Home World), and speak with the other Fargo in his quarters. This will result in the ship sailing to Marbule, and players should land on the island and defeat all nine of the Lagoonates that are scattered across it. Fans will see a message indicating that a dragon's cry was heard in the distance when the last enemy is beaten.
Beat the Dragon Gods and Complete Fort Dragonia (Home World)
Players should now progress Chrono Cross's story to the point where they are searching for and fighting the six dragon gods. Defeating those creatures will ultimately result in the acquisition of the Dragon Tear, which can be used at the entrance to Fort Dragonia (Home World) to solve all of its puzzles. There is a boss battle at the end of this dungeon, which fans must overcome.
Buy the Master Hammer on Marbule (Home World) and Go to Termina (Another World)
With all of those steps completed, players should add Zappa to their parties and head to the cave in the top-left corner of Marbule (Home World). There is now an NPC inside of this cave that sells the Master Hammer for 10,000G, and fans should purchase it and equip it to Zappa. From there, players should make their way to Termina (Another World) and speak with Zappa in his smithy to unlock the ability to craft Rainbow equipment in Chrono Cross.
