Chris Hemsworth is no stranger to extreme workouts since his role as Thor in the Marvel Cinematic Universe requires him to stack on the muscle. But Hemsworth's latest leading role in the upcoming Hulk Hogan Biopic is taking things even further.

Hemsworth will play Hogan in the biographical film which details the wrestler's rise to fame in the 1980s. Standing well over 6ft tall and weighing in at 300 pounds, the real-life Hogan is a force to be reckoned with, something that Hemsworth is planning to take seriously as he prepares for the role.

Talking to IGN, Hemsworth said that "the preparation for the role will be insanely physical. I will have to put on more size than I ever have before, even more than I put on for Thor. There is the accent as well as the physicality and the attitude." The actor also said that he is excited to dive into the world of pro-wrestling and he hopes the film will show a side of wrestling that audiences haven't seen before.

Joker director Todd Phillips is on board to helm the upcoming Hogan biopic with a script from Joker scribe Scott Silver. Big names including Bradley Cooper and Joe Russo are also listed as producers. The film has no release date but is expected to premiere on Netflix in the future.

Hemsworth is well known for taking on insane workouts which he posts on social media. The actor will be returning to the role that made him famous in the upcoming Thor: Love and Thunder, although whether he will maintain his muscle mass for Thor or return to the previously seen 'Fat Thor' of Avengers: Endgame is uncertain.

The Untitled Hulk Hogan Biopic is currently in development.
