Making its debut at Inside Xbox last year, Chorus looks to be a striking sci-fi shooter from Deep Silver, with the studio claiming it aims to be an evolution of the space combat genre. Earlier today, players got another look at the ambitious new title via a fresh trailer, with Deep Silver confirming the game will be launching this December.

As revealed in the teaser, Chorus will officially launch on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X on December 3, with players able to pre-order the title now. As for the clip itself, it offers a concise but substantial overview of the game, discussing its story, world, and combat.

The trailer begins with a brief look at the world of Chorus and its main protagonist, Nara. The enigmatic lead is allegedly an ace pilot with a dark past, with the game following her attempt to eradicate a powerful cult she used to align with known as The Circle. Along the way, players can expect plenty of action-packed missions and dramatic story moments, as Nara teams with her sentient ship to bring down the Circle and its leader, The Great Prophet.

The rest of the trailer focuses on gameplay, introducing players to the zero-g exploration and combat they can expect to become embroiled in when they try out Chorus this December. The title will take place in an open-world setting, allowing players to venture through large star systems while liberating them from the clutches of The Circle. They'll be able to take on story missions and side quests during their travels, while the trailer also showcases mysterious temples they'll have to scour.

The latter will see them interact with a race of interdimensional, reality-bending beings known as the Faceless who will task them with completing mazes filled with otherworldly dangers. Players got a brief look at these creepy characters during Chorus' Inside Xbox announcement trailer, with their sinister voices whispering to Nara during the final moments of the teaser.

As for Chorus' combat, it seems to be a fast-paced affair, with players having to shoot down other crafts while dodging between obstacles and using special abilities. The trailer shows off three unique powers during its runtime, highlighting the Rite of the Senses, which reveals important objects and markers, the Rite of the Hunt, which allows Nara's ship to teleport, and the Rite of the Storm, which disrupts enemy shields and weapons.

Between battles, players will be able to customize their arsenal at space stations, switching out and upgrading weapons to tackle the threats ahead. The game already looks to be a promising new space shooter with exciting battles, a gripping story, and plenty of eerie mysteries to solve.

Chorus is slated to launch on December 3 for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
