Chivalry 2 has just announced its new Fight Knight update to the game, bringing new modes and Halloween themes to its brutal world. Free to players on all platforms, this update is available as of October 26 and brings new game modes to Chivalry 2 including Last Team Standing and Brawl.

Chivalry 2 was released in 2021 and is the sequel to Chivalry: Medieval Warfare. A multiplayer first-person slasher, players are put into brutal medieval battles in a variety of game modes. This is the second major update to the game and it adds new additional content and addresses a number of minor bugs and issues.

This update to Chivalry 2 can be broken down into three parts: Halloween-themed additions, new game modes, and patches to known bugs and issues. The holiday additions include new wearable pumpkin helmets, interactable grave plots, Jack-O-Lantern carryables, and a number of holiday-themed additions to the game's maps. The new game modes include Last Team Standing, a large round-based fighting mode, and Brawl, a close-quarters brutal challenge on the Great Hall or Rudhelm Feast Chivalry 2 maps. These are accompanied by the new weapon, the Rapier, and a slew of new carryables including breakable bottles and chairs. These two items will come in especially handy for the bar fighting Brawl game mode.

After a delay to the release of Chivalry 2, this is the first chance the developers have had to theme their levels and the spooky additions bring a new atmosphere to the game. A combination of serious and light-hearted additions should mix quite well and the new game modes sound as though they should have always been a part of the game. In fact, the first game in the series, Chivalry: Medieval Warfare, actually did host a Last Team Standing mode.

Ever since Chivalry 2's announcement it has been known for being both gritty and less serious and this update matches that perfectly. For example, losing arms in the game usually meant death but, with this update, players will now be able to headbutt their way to a longer survival period. And the new game mode Brawl tasks players to take on up to 40 players in wild close quarters medieval bar fighting.

Then again, those looking for a medieval fighting simulator likely won’t be all for these changes and Halloween additions. Adding in a layer of holiday themes may take some players out of the gritty fighting. Either way though, there is more content for Chivalry 2 players to enjoy with this update.

Chivalry 2 is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
