The following article contains spoilers for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of MadnessDoctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness brought a few new faces to Disney's MCU, but the movie itself cuts short the crossover potential for many of those characters and actors, except for Clea Strange. This introduction also sees a new movie superstar enter the MCU, and Charlize Theron was quick to brag about her new job.

Clea shows up in Doctor Strange 2's mid-credits scene to seemingly summon the three-eyed Stephen for a trip to the Dark Dimension, even though as of now it’s not exactly clear what kind of route Marvel Studios has in mind for the character. In Marvel Comics lore, Clea, who is Dormammu's niece, eventually attains the title of Sorcerer Supreme and becomes Doctor Strange's wife, even adopting her husband’s surname when she takes up his title in Earth-616 after his passing.

Whatever role Kevin Feige and company have planned for her, the Atomic Blonde seems quite happy with her superhero status. Theron took to Instagram to post a massive spoiler for anyone that hasn’t seen Doctor Strange 2 yet. In the pictures, Theron can be seen sporting Clea's platinum blonde hair colour and purple eyeliner to match the character’s accustomed colors. The second photo features Theron as Clea alongside co-star Benedict Cumberbatch.

At the time of writing, the two pictures have amassed over 500,000 likes on Instagram, well over the usual number for Theron's posts, which might be a good omen for her new MCU character. The South African actor is set to reprise her role as Cipher in the next two Fast & Furious movies. Theron recently shared a new Fast X photo, showcasing her character's latest look.

Besides Clea, Doctor Strange 2 also introduced John Krasinski as Mr. Fantastic, though he’s quickly killed off by an angered Scarlet Witch. This is the same fate that befalls Sir Patrick Stewart's Professor X, though in the former’s case he probably has a long road ahead of him in the MCU's planned Fantastic Four movie. However, the Doctor Strange sequel’s handling of its cameos also happens to be one of the biggest points of contention amongst Marvel fans.

Theron's Clea falls in line with the MCU's long-formed tradition of keeping at least one more surprise saved until the very end, but regardless of that, fans might have to wait a bit longer to see her again in another Doctor Strange solo film, fall for Stephen, or replace him altogether. That is unless the two characters are part of the bigger plan the studio is setting up for Phase Four's Multiverse.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is now playing in theaters.
