Daredevil's Charlie Cox is gearing up to star in future MCU projects, and reprising such a beloved role in a massive cinematic universe calls for a suit upgrade, as the actor now feels the hero deserves to have the DD symbol on his chest.

Cox starred as the blind lawyer/vigilante for three seasons in Netflix's Daredevil before the series was eventually canceled in 2018. In the show, he dons two different suits, one a more homemade all-black look and the other a red with black armor suit that has the iconic horns on his cowl. In the Daredevil comics, the character goes through five suits in his crime fighting career.

Speaking with ComicBook while promoting his newest series, Kin, Cox spoke about the potential comic book suits he could be wearing in future MCU projects. Cox noted that his idea for the costume change would be a special moment for not only him, but for the fans as well. "If there is some new suit or if it does morph or change or it's redone or whatever, it will be so much more fun for the fans to just have that moment of like, 'Oh shit, that's what it is,'" Cox said.

What hasn't been added to his suit in the live-action series is the DD logo across the chest, an added element that Cox feels his character will rightfully earn. "What I would say is I've always liked the idea that at some point in Matt's journey, his emotional journey, and again, I don't know how everything is happening, or what might happen, and how it ties into what we've already done, I have no idea at all. But I've always liked the idea that at some point he feels like he has earned the right to have the DD [on his chest, which we've never had," Cox shared. "And one day down the line, I like the idea that he just makes that decision; we get to witness that evolution on screen. That's just a little idea that I've had that I thought would be quite cool."

His suggestion definitely sounds like a great arc for the character, but there's no telling when exactly fans will get to witness Cox rocking a suit with the DD next in the MCU. After his surprising yet welcomed MCU debut in Spider-Man: No Way Home, there's a likely possibility he could show up next in Disney Plus' She-Hulk series, as that story will center on another lawyer who specializes in cases involving superhumans. He could also play a bigger role in the upcoming Echo spin-off series, which will likely see the return of Vincent D'Onofrio's Kingpin, who made his MCU debut Hawkeye's season finale.

Until Cox returns, fans can catch up on his work in Daredevil. The series follows blind attorney Matt Murdock by day and his crime fighting vigilante persona Daredevil by night, as he uses his unique abilities to fight crime and corruption in Hell's Kitchen. The series also stars Elden Henson as Foggy Nelson, Deborah Ann Woll as Karen Page, Elodie Yung as Elektra, Jon Bernthal as Punisher, Rosario Dawson as Claire Temple, Scott Glen as Stick, and Wilson Bethel as Bullseye.

Daredevil will be available to stream on Disney Plus on March 16, 2022.
