Charlie Cox addressed the question of whether or not if that is actually his arm in the Spider-Man: No Way Home trailer. For those who don't know, the upcoming sequel film will be the third solo Spider-Man film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

The Spider-Man: No Way Home trailer was recently released and it broke the internet while also being the most-watched film teaser of all time. The trailer brought out all of the big guns by teasing many potential plot points, utilizing nostalgia, and even showing the fan-favorite Doc Ock, who will once again be played by Alfred Molina. There have been many rumors about Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire's versions of Spider-Man returning for this upcoming film. Fans can also hear Green Goblin's sinister cackle as a bomb is being tossed onto the bridge.

Besides Doc Ock and Green Goblin, there was a montage of a bunch of quick shots that have caused fans to speculate and come up with a lot of theories. Fans think they spotted the Lizard, Electro, the Sandman, and even Daredevil. Cox is the most recent actor to portray Matt Murdock/Daredevil and is his character is known for sporting rolled-up sleeves and a white button shirt. In the Spider-Man: No Way Home trailer, fans see Peter Parker in an office of some sort with a man (whose face isn't shown) placing his arm on the desk, and fans are thinking this is Marvel Studios' way of teasing Daredevil.

In the comics, Matt Murdock has been Peter Parker's lawyer. Since Parker's identity as Spider-Man was revealed to the world, fans began speculating that he would need a lawyer to get him out of this bind, which would bring in Daredevil. Marvel Studios hasn't confirmed anything and Charlie Cox went on record to say to ComicBook.com, "I can promise you those are not my forearms." Last year, Cox even said that he hadn't heard about the rumors of Daredevil appearing in Spider-Man: No Way Home and insisted that if they were true, a different actor must have been cast in the role.

At this point, with Marvel Studios having nothing to confirm and no actual footage to prove or disprove the theory, fans will need to wait until December to get their answer (which is a good thing). Living in this digital age, leaks and reveals get spoiled too soon, which for some is very exciting. Knowing what you're getting doesn't always ruin the allure of actually seeing it, but for many people, the surprise is even better. Imagine watching Batman v Superman and not knowing that Doomsday was in it, for example. Imagine if they marketed No Way Home and there was no Doc Ock in the trailer; instead pitching it as a Doctor Strange and Spider-Man film. Fans would be incredibly shocked once they see Doc Ock on the big screen.

Still, fans are excited and there's nothing wrong with that. Everyone wants their Spider-Man questions answered, but they'll just have to wait a little bit longer before they get what they seek. Expect many reveals between now and the release of the movie, but here's hoping most of it stays behind closed doors until release day.

Spider-Man: No Way Home will be in theaters on December 17, 2021.
