Deadpool 3 is set to bring back Hugh Jackman's Wolverine, but now it looks like Charlie Cox is interested in adding Matt Murdock (Daredevil) to the film franchise.

Deadpool was once left in the dust and overlooked thanks to the negative reactions to X-Men Origins: Wolverine. The movie changed the character's backstory and appearance, which many fans didn't appreciate. Thankfully, Deadpool has since been corrected. Now that Deadpool is part of Disney's Marvel Cinematic Universe, fans can expect higher-quality films from the character and potentially MCU crossovers.

Deadpool is known for crossing over into other comic book stories and having iconic names featured in his own adventures. Despite Deadpool being cameo-heavy, Daredevil has been getting most of the cameos compared to his peers. Daredevil appeared in Spider-Man: No Way Home and She-Hulk, and he is set to be in the upcoming Echo series before getting his own self-titled show. Daredevil is played by the fan favorite Cox, and it seems as though the actor would love for Daredevil to be in even more crossovers. During an appearance at the German Comic-Con Winter Edition, Charlie Cox said, "I think because of the tone of our show, I think that there’s a place for Daredevil to show up in Deadpool. It would be really cool."

What’s important to note is that the main reason for Cox's choice of Deadpool is the tone of Daredevil: Born Again, which is rumored to have a lighter tone compared to the darker original series on Netflix. However, Deadpool isn’t necessarily considered a light show because there is plenty of violence despite having heavy doses of humor. Many fans are unsure about what to expect in Daredevil: Born Again, but if the show is a similar tone to the Deadpool films, then that may not necessarily be a bad thing. It might be the best of both worlds, where it pleases both old and new fans, striking a perfect balance for Marvel Studios' audience.

Right now, this doesn't serve as an official confirmation of anything happening. Some say familiar faces will return in Deadpool 3, including Lewis Tan's Shatterstar. The biggest priority for Marvel Studios is to get back on the good side of fans after the critiques they've been receiving. From VFX artist working conditions, CGI complaints, and film critic feedback, it seems like Marvel Studios may be facing its toughest challenge. However, this new shift to quality over quantity may be just what Marvel Studios needed.

Daredevil: Born Again is scheduled to premiere on Disney Plus in the spring of 2024, and Deadpool 3 is currently scheduled to be released in theaters on November 8, 2024.
