Denji is the main character and titular hero of Chainsaw Man. He begins fighting off Devils with his dog Pochita, who had a saw blade attached to its body. Eventually, the two become one, allowing Denji to transform his head and both arms into chainsaws.

The shonen manga has as wild of a premise as they come. The anime adaptation feels like a throwback to older shows from the '90s as Denji is one of the most lecherous protagonists in years. This makes him quite funny, which serves as a nice accompaniment to all the blood and gore. Importantly, Denji has a good heart too. What are some of Denji's best lines in Chainsaw Man?

There will be spoilers.

7 “When I Fight A Dude, It’s Nuts Or Nothing!”

Aki in Chainsaw Man

As Aki is just as in love with Makima as Denji, he see the latter as a threat. When Denji appears on the scene, Aki decides to put the newcomer in his place by kicking the crap out of him in an alleyway. After making his point, Aki starts to walk away thinking he had won, but he was dead wrong.

Seconds later Aki receives a swift kick to his family jewels, with Denji screaming this line about “nuts or nothing.” This hilarious quote is enhanced later when Denji explains to Makima what happened to Aki. “A testicle devil appeared and went ape sh*t on his nut sack ma’am.”

6 “She’s More Like The Bullsh*t Devil!”

Denji and Power in Chainsaw Man

Toward the end of episode two, Denji is given Power as a partner. The episode ends with Power obliterating the Sea Cucumber Devil, which went against protocol. Episode three opens with Power getting chewed out for being reckless, but she puts the blame on Denji explaining he ordered her to do it.

As that’s a lie, Denji interjects with this quote. This joke is like a framework that keeps coming back in different forms, with Denji remarking how a character is a “blank” Devil whenever he is getting annoyed by their antics. Calling Power the “Bullsh*t Devil” is still the best insult though.

5 “Why Haven’t I Gotten To Cop A Single Damn Feel?”

Denji wants a simple life and one of those desires is a woman. He decides one of his biggest goals in episode two is to squeeze a woman’s chest. He gets the incentive to help Power rescue her cat Meowy as she promises Denji he can accomplish his goal as a reward.

Denji goes through hell to get this opportunity as he has to fight the Bat Devil to rescue both Meowy and Power. It’s funny that he screams this in the middle of battle, which is effective as this line intimidates the Bat Devil to no end.

4 “That’s It?”

Denji in Chainsaw Man

After defeating the Bat Devil and the Leech Devil, Denji gets his reward from Power. The scene is teased at the end of episode four, but it picks right up in episode five. He is a nervous mess the entire time while Power seems to be into it.

After the reward is done, she leaves Denji in a stupefied state. He asks this question to himself before the opening credits begin. The boy was let down by his seemingly impossible expectations, although Makima does cheer him up later in that episode.

3 “Hell No…Hell Yeah!”

Himeno kissing Denji in Chainsaw Man

Denji likes three things in the anime. He enjoys killing Devils, eating good food, and girls. He wants a girl to like him desperately and is in love with Makima. However, whenever another girl shows interest, he can’t help but return it. Himeno promises Denji a kiss and is ready to give it to him at the bar in episode seven.

When Makima overhears this, she asks Denji if he is getting a kiss from someone. He answers “Hell no” but then says “Hell yes” seconds later when Himeno asks him for a kiss again. He just wants a kiss and is conflicted by his hormones.

2 “Love Me Some Baddies, Can’t Get Enough.”

Denji as Chainsaw Man in Chainsaw Man

Denji says this line as he is resurrected from the damage he takes in episode eight when Katana Man shoots him in the restaurant. Denji is ready to go full chainsaw at the start of episode nine and revs up his engine to say this intimating speech.

Denji goes on to explain he can’t get in trouble for cutting up Devils and other bad guys. He even gets rewarded for hassles like these with food and will eventually get a kiss from Makima. This is a great fight between Denji and Katana Man but not as good as the finale in episode twelve which kicks things up a notch for action anime.

1 “You In Or What?”

Aki and Denji kicking Katana Man in Chainsaw Man

Episode two has one of the funniest moments from season one of Chainsaw Man with the aforementioned kicking of Aki’s scrotum. The anime is bookended with Aki and Denji teaming up to kick Katana Man below the belt instead. It’s a good bonding moment to show that the two of them have become closer.

What better way to celebrate a victory than by kicking an opponent when they are down? It’s an unsportsmanlike thing to do, but Katana Man had it coming since he did kill dozens of innocent lives, including Himeno, even if it was indirectly.
