There are new modes, lighting, levels, and more! Let's take a look at the main differences in the Nintendo Switch version.

10 Qatherine

As if having feelings for two girls isn't enough, the Switch version of the game adds a third. Vincent has a new neighbor by the name of Qatherine, or Rin for short. Clearly, this game a thing for the name. Rin is a pianist and Vincent slowly but surely begins to like her due to her uniqueness. This new character ties nicely into the story. Also, players can tell that she and Vincent have a very strong connection. Many things throughout the plot intertwine with her character. One is that she can play Stray Sheep on the piano.

9 Multiplayer

To say that a new multiplayer version is an improvement is an understatement. Excitingly, the Switch offers this for Catherine: Full Body! Many fans play the original game with so much dedication, and luckily, many designers catch onto this. The Switch is easy for multiplayer due to the handheld features.

This allows fans to play the game they love with more and more people. Furthermore, This new feature provides new playable characters like the Joker from Persona 5. Players can now experience two great games in the same setting.

8 Voices

There are many minuscule features in games that only true gamers really appreciate. One of these features is the new voices of the characters, especially in anime games. Dialogue is important in games like Catherine: Full Body and the Switch offers three new voices that players can choose. The first voice is Healing Flower which is more gentle and smooth. Players can choose her if they want to unwind for a bit. The second voice is Saucy Kouhai and her game pretty much says it all. A lot of teasing goes on with this voice. The third voice is Intelligent Beauty who always expresses her smarts. She also has a charm about her and is very intriguing for players.

7 Portable

One of the more convenient new aspects of the game that comes with the Switch version is its portability. The handheld version of Catherine: Full Body allows players to delve into Vincent's world where ever they choose. In theory, players are not likely going to bring their entire PS4 console many places. With the Switch, they can play while waiting for something, anywhere at home, or bring it to a friend's house. There are many more opportunities when a game becomes portable.

6 Framerate

One of the minor but noticeable differences between the original version and the Switch version is the framerate. Many players claim that this feature is nothing drastic, but they still notice the difference. The Switch version arguably runs more smoothly and the framerate is solid. Players feel that the framerate is the same in both the dockable and undockable modes.

Plus the load times are not that long which is always a bonus. This is only a slight difference from the PS4 version. However, it's nice for players to know that the Switch's framerates are just as good if not better.

5 Details

The Switch version offers new fun details that only true fans will catch onto. For those who enjoy watching cutscenes, there are 20 new cutscenes in the new version. These scenes contain backstories on the characters and more detail about their lives overall. Also, there's a new feature that allows players to choose the background music in the Stray Sheep Bar. They can choose songs from Persona 4Project Re: Fantasy, and more! It's always entertaining for players to manipulate the environment for the characters.

4 No Stress

Some of the block puzzles in the game can be very challenging. There are various obstacles on the blocks such as ice, springs, cracks, and holes. Fortunately, the Switch version has a feature to help with this. Players can change the game to safety mode. This allows them to jump the other way during climbs which will pass the obstacles. Players also have the option to skip the obstacles altogether. Yep, that's how hard they can be. This feature helps the storyline progress as well as take a lot of the stress out for players.

3 Double Puzzle

The Switch version has features for the players who thrive on tough challenges. Players can actually double the number of puzzles they play. They can do this using the remix mode which is brand new to the Switch version. This mode also makes the blocks more difficult than they already are. For example, the blocks will have groups of blocks that are all different colors moving together. This new feature is only for those who really love the challenge. It's nice that the Switch version provides this option though.

2 Just Keeps Running

There are many aspects of the Switch version that help with the game's overall performance. Since the Switch contains a hybrid console, it runs very smoothly. The modes on the Switch in comparison to the original eliminate all the bugs and glitches as well.

Some players complain about the Switch version being a little too sensitive. However, it's better to have the controls work too well instead of lagging a lot. To put it simply, players can tell that the Switch version is an upgrade overall.

1 Lighting

The graphics of this game are phenomenal in the original version. However, the Switch version makes them even more eye-catching. There are many noticeable differences in the Switch version that make the game's texture unreal. Specifically, a lot of the lighting in the game looks much more advanced. Scenes such as Vincent's bar scenes make players feel like they are really there. The atmosphere and the vibes within each setting really set the mood via soft lighting. This version provides the perfect amount of detail without being too much.
