Atlus has announce that the demo of their highly anticipated title Catherine will release tomorrow (July 12th) on the Playstation Network and Xbox Live.
Players who are still a bit wary of whether or not the game (which has featured some bizarre trailers) is something they will enjoy – should check out the demo to get a feel for the actual gameplay.
The demo will cover the first hour of the title, with gameplay alone lasting roughly forty-five minutes. It will also introduce the player to many of the characters they will meet throughout the story.
In terms of gameplay, the demo will include a look at the Nightmare Sequences. Some may recall that a patch was released for the Japanese Version of the game to make these sequences easier for players.
Aram Jabbari -Atlus’ Manager of Public Relations and Sales also took to the PlayStation Blog comment section to answer some questions.
One question many gamers are probably wondering is if there is any difference between the demo that released on the Japanese PSN and the one that will release tomorrow. Aside from the change in languages, the two demos are identical – so those with a Japanese PSN account should be aware that they really won’t get to see anything new if they download the English Demo. It’s also worth noting that both the demo and the main game will only output the audio in English, so gamers hoping for Japanese voice-overs may be forced to import the title.
Are you planning on picking up the demo when it lands tomorrow, or would you rather go into the game without knowing anything about the story?
Catherine will release July 26th for the PS3 and Xbox 360, and features a different cover art for each respective platform (the PS3 cover art sports Catherine, whereas the 360 version has Katherine, the girlfriend of the main character Vincent, on the cover).
