The Castlevania series has a dedicated fan base, with the franchise running the gamut from retro titles of the older gaming generations, to somewhat more recent iterations, such as 2014's Lords of Shadow 2. It's a series that has seemingly stood the test of time, which can be evidenced by the fact that recent developments in Korea show that the Castlevania Advance Collection may be getting a PC port. Now, another sighting in the wild shows that this same collection may be coming to NIntendo's hybrid console.

Recently, a source was able to spot some information suggesting Castlevania Advance Collection will be coming to the Switch, hinted at by the fact that a Taiwanese classification board has given it an age rating for the Nintendo console. The report states that the collection will likely consist of Circle of the Moon, Harmony of Dissonance, and Aria of Sorrow, which originally came out on the Game Boy Advance in 2001, 2002, and 2003, respectively.

This also corroborates with some previous news about the collection. As mentioned above, a rating from Korea hinted at a possible PC release of the classic and visually stunning GBA games. But the collection was also noted to have been given a rating in Australia a few months back. This rating suggested that the series of games will be "multiplatform" and that they will be getting released by Konami. Similar to this latest development, the collection will consist of the three GBA Castlevania titles mentioned above.

There's quite a lot of talk about retro and classic games coming to the Nintendo Switch. Just recently, it was rumored that the Switch Online service may be making N64 games available. If true, this means the likes of Goldeneye or Diddy King Racing could become a part of this current generation of gaming. However, much like the Castlevania Advance Collection, nothing has been confirmed by official sources, but the fact that the collection has been given a rating multiple times, and in this case listed for the Switch, does give cause for excitement.

The Castlevania franchise is known to feature some pretty epic boss fights, so the chance to relive some of the older games from a bygone era re-released on the Switch is bound to be intriguing to many fans. From its early days as an NES and Commodore 64 title, to currently being on its fourth season after being adapted into a Netflix exclusive anime, it's evident that the gothic horror games are here to stay.
