With every major blockbuster movie there's usually a video game tie-in. This is especially true if the movie is based on a comic book franchise as popular as Captain America. A few days before the Captain America: The First Avenger movie, SEGA will be releasing Captain America: Super Soldier to all major consoles and today we have some new screenshots for your viewing pleasure.
When gamers hear news of a video game adaptation of an upcoming movie, they usually go running for the hills, mainly due to the fact that they are usually subpar (read: cheap and crappy). SEGA didn't deliver a quality Iron Man game, and after promises of a good sequel, failed again. Many are skeptical they can do a good job with the star-spangled Avenger.
One thing the Captain America: Super Soldier has going for it are its graphics. The game looks pretty darn good in previous screen shots and the gameplay seems to be fluid and almost Prince of Persia-like in the early trailer. However, playing is believing and we'll see if this will be a worthy purchase when it launches in the summer. Until then, take a gander at the screenshots below.

Look at the shine on that iconic shield!
The pictures depict Cap doing what he does best: punching, leaping and sitting in quiet contemplation before jumping out of a perfectly good airplane. SEGA has clearly gone to great lengths to make this title look amazing, and signing Chris Evans to do the voice work is an added bonus. Given how well the trailer for the upcoming movie looks, people could say SEGA has their work cut out for them if they plan to create a video game that's on par with the movie. So far we've seen some basic combat and will have to wait until the summer to find out if it's worth seeing the 'First Avenger' in video game form.
Captain America: Super Solider is due out on July 19th for PS3, Xbox 360, Wii, DS and 3DS. Are you one of the many who are skeptical about this game until it launches?
