Marvel Studios' phase 4 has done a great job delving deeper into many side characters' storylines while also exploring new intriguing ones. One of those new characters is Joaquin Torres (Danny Ramirez) from The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. Now, the Marvel actor has hinted at his possible return in more MCU projects such as Captain America 4.

First introduced in the Disney Plus series, Torres is a first lieutenant in the Air Force who was assigned to assist Sam Wilson/Falcon (Anthony Mackie) during his mission in the series' first episode. As the show progressed and their friendship grew, Wilson passed on his Falcon mantle/wings to Torres after finding his inner strength to become the new Captain America, implying that Torres will become the new Falcon and will most likely be featured in Captain America 4.

Sitting down with ScreenRant to discuss his new film No Exit, Ramirez was asked if he could share any details regarding his future in the MCU. "Well, I obviously can’t say anything," he said at first. "...but I’m just genuinely excited in the direction that all of Hollywood is going in the amount of representation on screen for Latino/Latinx characters and, with Joaquin, I’m really excited with who he is as a person and how he carries himself and that’s all I’m gonna say, because I can’t! You know I can’t!”

In the comics, Torres was mutated by a ruthless scientist known as Karl Malus and became a human/falcon hybrid after his DNA was mixed with Redwing, the falcon sidekick of Sam Wilson (who he shared a telepathic link with). While it's unclear how Marvel Studios will continue to develop the live-action version of Torres (as he most likely will repair Wilson's old wings instead), there's no ruling out any storyline from the comics. With one of the major themes of the MCU's phase 4 centering on legacy, it would be a missed opportunity for Torres not to appear in the fourth film.

Although the details are still under wraps, including the film's official title and whether or not Sebastian Stan's Bucky Barnes will even make an appearance, Captain America 4 will be Mackie's first starring/solo role in an MCU film. Malcolm Spellman, head creator/writer for The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, will write the script for the upcoming film along with the series staff writer Dalan Musson. No director has been set for the film.

As of now, there is no release date for Captain America 4 and it's highly unlikely to be released before 2023. Until then, fans can catch up on the last three Captain America films and The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, and they can continue tuning in to upcoming MCU content.
