On February 24, 2009, the Capcom USA Twitter account tweeted out: "mmm. urinal cakes are cinnamon-flavored. I mean scented. Scented!" The internet stumbled upon this random tweet yesterday, and it has since hunted down a number of other weird Capcom tweets that the official Twitter account sent out in 2009 and earlier.

These weird tweets mainly consist of random jokes, though their origin is unclear. It's possible that someone else had the CapcomUSA_ Twitter handle prior to Capcom itself owning it, and the company simply forgot to delete these older tweets. Alternatively, it's possible that whoever was in charge of the Capcom USA Twitter account back in late 2000s simply liked to make weird tweets to make jokes or get attention. Whatever the case may be, the Internet is just now discovering these weird Capcom tweets, and there's quite a few of them that still exist.

One of the weirdest old Capcom tweets is the urinal cake joke. But there's another tweet where the official Capcom USA Twitter account referred to GameStop managers as "a gloriously unruly bunch," which is sure to raise some eyebrows. These tweets still exist at the time of this writing, with the urinal cake tweet getting the most attention so far, with over 1,000 likes and nearly 1,000 people tweeting about it.

These old tweets seem to be random, harmless jokes, and so far nothing offensive has been found. Considering this, it's possible that the official Capcom USA Twitter account will leave them up. Then again, it may want to delete these older tweets as they don't go well with the account's other professional behavior. Mainly, Capcom seems to use this Twitter account to promote deals for its video games, and it may want to keep the attention on that.

At the time of this writing, there are quite a few Capcom video game deals that fans of the company's work can take advantage of. Capcom is offering a number of its games at heavily discounted prices on its official website, including 2020's Resident Evil 3 remake. The various video game console digital marketplaces also have deals on Capcom's games, so fans may want to check those out as well.

So far, Capcom has not tweeted out anything acknowledging the sudden attention its older tweets are getting from the Internet. But as more people start paying attention to these weird tweets, one has to imagine that Capcom will either say something about it or delete the tweets. For now, fans can keep digging for whatever old, weird Capcom tweets they can find.
