Capcom announces a brand-new livestream event for next week as it looks to share more details on Resident Evil 4 and a few other upcoming games. Although the Japanese developer has already made its announcements for 2023, fans have been waiting for Capcom to share more details. The newly upcoming event will come as welcome news for many who have been eager for updates.

While the company has its slew of games on the way, much of the spotlight has been dominated by massive titles like Street Fighter 6 and the Resident Evil 4 remake. Street Fighter in particular has been generating a lot of buzz, considering the sixth installment comes seven years after the release of its predecessor. Recently, Capcom offered a closer look at what to expect from Street Fighter 6 at PlayStation's State of Play event. Now it appears the developer will be teasing a few of its other upcoming games for 2023.

Accordingly, the company's next event will be the Capcom Spotlight, which is a 26-minute global digital livestream event for its 2023 games lineup. Scheduled for March 9 at 2:30 PM PST, the event will showcase details on Resident Evil 4, Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak, Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective, and Exoprimal. Capcom Spotlight will also share updates on the upcoming Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collection. However, it's worth noting that Capcom has mentioned that the date and time could change without prior notice.

As Capcom Spotlight is set to go live next week, a lot of eyeballs will be on the Resident Evil 4 remake. The franchise has garnered a sizable fanbase over the years and the remake of its 2005 hit has gained a lot of attention. Capcom already shared a preview of the upcoming Resident Evil 4 with its State of Play 2023 trailer when fans got a closer look at the gameplay, tweaks, boss fights, and more. With weeks away from launch, many might not have expected more updates about the game, though the announcement will likely excite fans regardless.

The company's new slate of games comes after a promising 2022. Capcom expects to break its sales record by 2022 fiscal year-end. The company states that it sold 29.1 million games during the April to December 2022 period and expects that number to cross 40 million by the end of March. Time will tell if 2023 will be just as promising for Capcom, and much of that depends on how well the upcoming titles meet player expectations.
