Capcom gives new sales figures on titles from two of its most popular franchises, reporting that Resident Evil 2's remake has sold over 10 million units, Monster Hunter Rise has surpassed 11 million copies, and its latest expansion Sunbreak has managed to top 4.4 million units. Financial reports might not be as exciting to many gamers as the announcement of a new title or IP, but they do give some insight into the schedules of certain companies, shedding light on projects in development. Ubisoft's Q1 financial report informed fans on delays for the Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora game and an unannounced premium title, for example.

Capcom has been very open with its finances in 2022, as the Street Fighter and Resident Evil developer is looking for its tenth year of growth. From Capcom's report of its first quarter this financial year, it seemed as if it wasn't doing as well as expected, but the company blamed its somewhat lacking sales figures on the absence of a major release so far. However, Capcom has never faltered from its expectations for a tenth year of growth.

The company has recently shared the financial figures for its latest quarter, showing that some titles are still performing well even if Capcom isn't exactly reaching its targets. The remake of Resident Evil 2, which released in 2019, has just managed to sell over 10 million units. This is likely to increase too when Resident Evil 2 becomes available on the Switch alongside other titles from the horror franchise. As stated, Monster Hunter Rise and its Sunbreak expansion have also seen some increased sales figures, overall pushing Capcom to sell 21.3 million units of software in its second financial quarter.

This marks a year-over-year increase for Capcom's sales, which means even without a major release in these first two quarters, it is still doing better than it was in 2021. As well, Capcom has some big titles left to release in the rest of 2022 and the beginning of 2023, including Resident Evil Village: Gold Edition which releases at the end of October, giving players access to a third-person mode and the Shadows of Rose story DLC.

There's also the Resident Evil 4 remake, which is set for an early 2023 launch but could still slot in before the end of this financial year. Fans got more details about the Resident Evil 4 remake in a new trailer shown off at a showcase dedicated to the franchise. Capcom does have some other big launches planned for next year, including Street Fighter 6 and Exoprimal, but it doesn't seem as though these games will release before the end of the financial year. Still, it's likely that the gaming giant could be well on its way to its tenth year of growth.
