Capcom releases a new teaser to hype up its Resident Evil Showcase, which is set to take place in October. The Resident Evil franchise is one of the most well-established horror series in gaming, with multiple entries covering different sorts of themes and throwing all kinds of abominations at players to give them a fright. Currently, there are a couple of major Resident Evil projects in the works, including the highly anticipated DLC for Resident Evil Village and a remake of Resident Evil 4.The DLC and Gold Edition for Resident Evil Village was first unveiled in June this year and will release in a few weeks on October 28. The remake of Resident Evil 4 marks the latest in a building list of remasters of the classic titles in the franchise. Also revealed at the Capcom Showcase in June, there have been a few details released around the Resident Evil 4 remake, including that it will release on PS4, but much more information was promised by Capcom at an event dedicated to the horror franchise.RELATED: Resident Evil HD Mod Brings Back PS1-Style CharactersA specific date hasn't been given on when the Resident Evil Showcase will take place, but Capcom has stated that it will happen "soon." In a new trailer posted to the Resident Evil Twitter account, the caption reads that the clip gives only a "taste of what's to come." Beginning with a look at Resident Evil Village, the 30-second clip doesn't manage to cover much, but for those who are new to the final act of the Winters' saga, it gives a solid introduction.

The trailer does show off the third-person perspective coming to Resident Evil Village in the Gold Edition and Shadows of Rose DLC. The third-person mode is a staple of many Resident Evil games, but it proved tricky to implement in Resident Evil Village according to the game's director. Alongside the new perspective, the Gold Edition will also bring some accessibility features previously unavailable in the game and of course the final act of the Winters' story in the Shadows of Rose DLC.

For anyone wanting a tease of the Resident Evil 4 remake, unfortunately they won't find anything in Capcom's recent teaser. However, with the promise that more information is coming soon, fans will likely get plenty of details on the upcoming game later this month. There's also the potential for some surprise reveals at the showcase, including perhaps some information on Resident Evil 9, a title that the internet has been speculating on ever since the announcement that Shadows of Rose would close the Winters' family saga.

Resident Evil Village is out now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X, and the Shadows of Rose DLC launches on October 28, 2022.
