More details about a rumored unannounced Capcom project are continuing to swirl, just days or weeks ahead of a speculated announcement during Sony's PS5 reveal event. Little is known about the rumored project, but according to the latest leak, there's one Capcom franchise that it's definitely not going to be from. Despite fan requests, Capcom's secret game will not be the return of the Dino Crisis franchise. But dinosaurs, in general, may still be on the table.

According to AestheticGamer, who has been running point on all of the latest Capcom leaks and rumors, a Dino Crisis reboot, remake, or sequel isn't Capcom's next game. AestheticGamer started these rumors after revealing just recently that Capcom would be rebooting "a couple other" past titles in the company's RE Engine. These games "should be seen pretty soon," they continued. Dino Crisis being one of Capcom's cult favorites, its fans quickly speculated about the franchise's return.

Today, AestheticGamer talked themself into a corner. They decided to put out a teaser for a game that's going to be "revealed pretty soon." The teaser shows an embryonic dinosaur stock photo with the line "A reminder that all humans were dinosaurs once." A frustrated follower responded to the teaser asking AestheticGamer to either stop the teasers or confirm it was for Dino Crisis. AestheticGamer replied, confirming that it was not a Dino Crisis game.

In other words, AestheticGamer seems to be teasing a dinosaur-related game that will be revealed soon. It's not Dino Crisis and it's not even clear if it's the Capcom remake that AestheticGamer teased earlier. It's reached a point where AestheticGamer's rumors are too many and too unspecific. Luckily, it seems that whatever leaks they're referring to, they'll be revealed soon. Capcom fans won't have to remain frustrated over the ambiguity for much longer.

What's officially known is that Capcom is working on Resident Evil 3 Remake for release on April 3 and that the PS5 is launching in late 2020. Everything beyond that is unconfirmed.

It's possible that Sony will be hosting a PS5 reveal event of sorts in February. It's also possible that during this event, several new games will be announced. One of these games could be a Capcom title. This game may or may not have Dinosaurs in it, but it will absolutely not be Dino Crisis. It's all very complicated and unfortunately the Dino Crisis fans are the only ones who end up disappointed.
