Capcom has been very vocal when it comes to revealing new information regarding the Monster Hunter series. In the past few months, there have been a few Monster Hunter digital events to showcase trailers and gameplay for both Monster Hunter Rise and Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin. Now, Capcom has announced that yet another digital event is on the horizon and fans won't have to wait too long to find out more.

The Monster Hunter Digital Event for May will give new details for the upcoming 3.0 title update for Monster Hunter Rise and more news on the upcoming JRPG, Monster Hunter Stories 2. Capcom has already confirmed that the 3.0 update for Monster Hunter Rise will come with some new monsters and a new story chapter to close out the narrative, but the rest of the contents are still unknown for now.

The latest digital event for the long-running franchise will be livestreamed on the Monster Hunter Twitch channel on May 26th, 2021, at 7 AM PT/ 10 AM ET/ 3 PM BST. It appears that the stream will also be available to watch on YouTube, Facebook, and Twitter as well. If this live stream is anything like the previous one, fans can expect the title update for Rise to drop the same day, a couple of hours after the stream ends.

Capcom didn't share many details about what to expect during the broadcast, but fans can look forward to the reveal of the new monsters and an in-depth look at Wings of Ruin, especially since the game is due for launch in less than two months.

In the same announcement tweet, Capcom also confirmed the download size for the upcoming 3.0 update for Monster Hunter Rise. For those that have already installed update 2.0 from last month, the new update will only take up 1.4GB of space. For the players that have yet to update Rise at all, the required space will be approximately 2.9GB. Switch owners should definitely look into freeing up some extra storage space before the update goes live, or just invest in a larger SD card.

The 2.0 update added monsters such as Teostra, Chameleos, Kushala Daora, some Apex Monsters, and a slew of new features and quality of life improvements. It's going to be interesting to see what Capcom throws in next.

Monster Hunter Rise is now available for the Nintendo Switch with a PC port coming in 2022. Monster Hunter Stories 2 launches for PC and Switch on July 9.
