Erryn Rhoden is a 48-year-old mother who lives in Columbus, Ohio and works in a family business. On April 12, her son Xane tweeted about her, revealing that she was the number one in her region at the time, despite never actually knowing that she was competing with others.

According to Erryn’s interview with Kotaku, she used to play many competitive games a few years ago, as she liked the adrenaline rush of winning. However, that turned her into too much of a competitive person, so she strayed away from most games. Ironically, it was the decade-old Candy Crush that helped her to continue playing, as it was mostly a single-player experience that did not involve any kind of competition. Discovering that she was doing so well in the tournament was a surprise to her, as she did not even acknowledge entering it all. Now, if Erryn actually makes it to the final, she’ll go together with the other nine people to the United Kingdom to complete for the prize on May 25.

Candy Crush Saga is available now on iOS and Android devices.
