While this has been a great year for some content creators, others have not been as lucky, receiving huge amounts of backlash from the public eye. Some of the controversies have been over trivial matters, such as HasanAbi receiving threats from buying a house, others have involved more serious allegations.

In January, a famous YouTuber by the name of CallMeCarson was accused of grooming underage fans. The accusations came from fellow creators who worked with him during an interview with Keemstar. This caused Carson to lose a huge chunk of his subscribers and massively trend on Twitter as more of his victims came forward.

For the longest time, it seemed Carson was not going to make a return after he left the internet for months. However, Carson appeared on a podcast earlier this month and announced that CallMeCarson is returning sometime later this year. Now, on the CallMeCarson YouTube channel, Carson made a video yesterday stating he will begin streaming again on September 1st at 1 pm EST.

In the video titled "Moving Forward," Carson stated that he is neither seeking forgiveness for his previous actions nor wants to make excuses for what he did. Instead, he intends to give back to people who need more money than him by donating his proceeds to charity. In the video, he stated that he would stream for a year and give all of the money he makes to charity, with a different charity being the focus every month.

The first charity that Carson has chosen is a video game charity group called GamesForLove, which is dedicated to bringing consoles and equipment to different hospitals and child well-being facilities. All of the money from Twitch subs and YouTube views will be donated here for September, and anyone can check for updates on Carson's Twitch channel, CallMeCarson.live, with blogposts and a donation chart.

Many of the top comments on the video are appreciative of Carson's efforts. Many users acknowledge that Carson has apologized to his victims and sought therapy to learn from his mistakes and only wishes to better himself. However, many users on Twitter seem to have taken a different approach and are mad that he isn't acknowledging the incident and didn't make an official public apology video, and that he should've never come back at all. Whatever the case may be, it seems that most of his followers are satisfied with the way Carson is returning with a positive like-to-dislike ratio on the video.
