After a successful release as an Xbox exclusive, and recent teases from its developer, it's been confirmed that Call of the Sea is coming to PlayStation consoles in just one month.

The puzzle-adventure game Call of the Sea originally released late last year for both Xbox One and Xbox Series X as well as PC. It received positive reviews from critics, who noted that the narrative and setting were strong for indie studio Out of the Blue's debut title. While some felt that the puzzles were dull, others were enthralled by the big question mark of Call of the Sea's story accompanied by the many smaller puzzles throughout.

Via Twitter, Out of the Blue and publisher Raw Fury have announced that Call of the Sea will no longer be an Xbox exclusive and is coming to PS4 and PS5 in May 2021. However, no release date has been formally announced, and it's not immediately clear if the PS5 version of the game will feature any next-gen upgrades.

Inspired by narrative adventure games such as Firewatch, Soma, and Subnautica, players will embark on a mysterious island journey as Norah, who is searching for her husband Harry with only a ritualistic knife and a picture of him with a note on the back. It leads to an island 74 miles east of Tahiti, where Harry had seemingly vanished in search of a cure for a rare illness plaguing Norah's family.

Norah, as well, is suffering from this inexplicable illness. She's voiced by Cissy Jones, best known for her work as Delilah in Firewatch and Joyce in Life is Strange. Jones' talent supports Call of the Sea's emotional tale and thrilling story.

Call of the Sea is out now for PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S, and is coming to PS4 and PS5 in May 2021.
