Activision has finally revealed when potential attendees of their upcoming Call of Duty fan convention, Call of Duty XP, will be able to pick up their tickets, and it’s right around the corner.

On July 19th, any Call of Duty fan who is interested in participating in the two-day event needs only to visit the official Call of Duty XP site and make their $150 purchase.

Tickets will officially go on sale at 10:00 AM PST so be ready because these tickets are sure to go pretty fast. Thankfully, in an attempt to eliminate after-market sales, Activision is keeping the maximum number of event tickets that can be purchased to two.

However, Activision makes no mention of what the expected attendance threshold is for the event, but we imagine with the wealth of opportunities to sit in on developer discussions of Modern Warfare 3 it can’t be too large of an event.

There are a few disclaimers to the event, namely that you must be over 18 years of age, and willing to allow your likeness to be recorded for various broadcasts of the event. Since Call of Duty XP will be the premiere venue for Modern Warfare 3’s multiplayer and Call of Duty Elite details, Activision thought it best to record all of the event for promotional purposes.

It’s also worth noting that your convention ticket does not guarantee anything but participation in the event -- food and other amenities like travel and hotel accommodations must be provided by the attendee. But, if you are lucky enough to participate in the Call of Duty tournament that awards its winning team $1 Million, that should be worth the inconvenience.

Do you plan on attending Call of Duty XP 2011? Do you think that more popular game franchise should put on events like this?

Call of Duty XP takes place on September 2nd and 3rd in Los Angeles, CA. For a brief tour of the event head on over to the official site and check out those areas Activision has already “declassified.”
