Following the initial launch of Call of Duty: WW2's Resistance DLC for PlayStation 4 first, fans of the first-person shooter on PC and Xbox One went on to receive the expansion pack about a month later, and now it looks as if the second batch of add-ons will follow the same release pattern. Now, the publisher Activision and developer Sledgehammer Games have officially revealed the release date for the game's next installment of DLC entitled "The War Machine", with PS4 getting first dibs on April 10, 2018.

As seen in the images below, Call of Duty: WW2 fans on PlayStation 4 who go on to pick up the War Machine DLC will receive three new maps, a fresh War Mode mission, and the next chapter of Nazi Zombies. The new multiplayer maps are Egypt, Dunkirk, and V2, while the War Mode mission is dubbed "Operation Husky", and the next Zombies add-on is going to be called "The Shadowed Throne."

As described in an official blog post for Call of Duty: WW2's The War Machine DLC, the Egypt map will let players gain access to the famous Giza pyramids' interiors and exteriors, the Dunkirk map of the French city will be ideal for sniping due to its open beach lined with buildings, and V2 will be a "a "tight, ultra-fast paced map" set in a secret German rocket facility. When it comes to Operation Husky – which was co-developed with Raven Software – it is based on the Allied invasion of Sicily, tasking players with collecting intel and clearing out enemy planes via aerial dogfighting to give the Allied bombers berth.

Call of Duty: WW2's aforementioned The Shadowed Throne provides the next chapter in the Nazi Zombies story, which will take players to Berlin to face off against Doktor Straub and his army of the undead. This portion of The War Machine DLC will likely be seen as the most coveted piece of the expansion, as our review along with others have touted the game's Zombies feature as being a much-needed reorganization and revitalization of the mode.

Those looking to obtain Call of Duty: WW2's The War Machine DLC will be able to do so as a standalone purchase for $15, while fans who have already gone all-in with the Season Pass will receive it at no additional cost when it launches. Of course, as previously mentioned, PlayStation 4 users will receive it first in a couple of weeks thanks to Activision's timed-exclusivity deal with Sony, while the waiting period for PC and Xbox One should only be about 30 days thereafter.

Call of Duty: WW2 is available now for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
