Several days ago, Call of Duty's long-rumored return to World War II was confirmed in the form of Call of Duty: WW2, and since then there have been a plethora of leaks and early disclosures about the forthcoming title ahead of Activision and Sledgehammer Games' first official reveal that's slated for tomorrow. Now, it seems as if even more unsanctioned information is making the rounds online, as GameStop marketing materials for the release have leaked to reveal details for the shooter's special edition.
As seen in the tweet below from the Twitter account "JEEZUSHiGH," Call of Duty: WW2 is going to have a special version that's known as a "Pro Edition," and it will contain the base game, a collectible steelbook, and the title's season pass, confirming as one would expect that the game will have post-launch content plans. Not to mention, the leak shows materials alluding to the previously revealed beta, and that it will be coming to PS4 players first.
Of course, all of these details regarding Call of Duty: WW2's Pro Edition shouldn't be too surprising, as these features have been mainstays of the franchise for quite some time. Nevertheless, the leaks will definitely spur fans to begin speculating as to what kind of DLC and expansions are going to be incorporated into the title, especially since all Activision and Sledgehammer Games have officially revealed is the shooter's name and a piece of promotional art.
As previously mentioned, there have already been several leaks alluding to Call of Duty: WW2's contents, with one teasing the inclusion of a new co-op mode, and another referring to the title's campaign and multiplayer details. Not to mention, one Reddit user has even gone as far as to out the game's potential release date as November 3, 2017 well ahead of its official announcement.
Taking all of this into consideration, the deluge of leaks are certainly evidence of Call of Duty: WW2's fan base being passionate about the franchise finally returning to its roots, as players are eager to learn all they can about the game before its release. With this being the case, fans should expect Activision and Sledgehammer Games to begin eking out details about the shooter and its contents through more official channels in the coming weeks and months.
Call of Duty: WW2 is currently without an official release date.
