Last month, Call of Duty: WW2 launched the Winter Siege event, which gave players the opportunity to earn limited-time weapons and also saw the return of fan favorite game mode Gun Game. Now the game's next event has been announced and dated, with The Resistance event beginning January 23 and running all the way until February 27.

Like the Winter Siege event, The Resistance event in Call of Duty: WW2 will give players the opportunity to earn new weapons in the form of the Combat Knife, the Orso submachine gun, and Volkssturmegewehr assault rifle. New cosmetics should be available as well, which players will earn through special Resistance-themed supply drops (Call of Duty: WW2's version of loot boxes).

Again like the Winter Siege, The Resistance event in Call of Duty: WW2 will also see the addition of some new game modes. Demolition is making a comeback, as is the unique Prop Hunt mode. Check out The Resistance's new game modes, weapons, and more in action right here:

While The Resistance has a lot in common with the Winter Siege event, it does seem to be slightly larger in scope. That's because players will also be granted access to a brand new division that is also called The Resistance. This new class will be focused on close-quarters combat and will have the perks and gear to reflect that playstyle.

For those wondering why the new division and the event are both named The Resistance, it likely has something to do with Call of Duty: WW2's first DLC Pack. Also called The Resistance, the first DLC pack will add new multiplayer and zombie maps, and will launch on January 30 for PS4, with a PC and Xbox One release expected to come at the end of February.

PC and Xbox One players won't be able to access the new DLC for about a month or so, but The Resistance event itself will be available to all players regardless of platform from January 23 to February 27.

Call of Duty: WW2 is available now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
