Just yesterday, Activision and Sledgehammer Games teased a forthcoming St. Patrick's Day-themed event in the first-person shooter Call of Duty: WW2, leading many to speculate what kind of content would eventually be included in the holiday celebration. Now, the publisher and developer have officially confirmed the event as Operation: Shamrock & Awe, with players of the FPS able to experience its action from now until April 3, 2018.

As seen below in the official Call of Duty: WW2 Operation: Shamrock & Awe trailer, the first-person shooter's Headquarters are now decked out in St. Patrick's Day-themed designs, with flags emblazoned with clover insignias, rainbows arching over the grounds, as well as a giant and smoking mug of ale at the camp. Not to mention, there's even new uniform variants, camos, charms, and the two new weapons: the M-38 Submachine Gun and the MG-81 Light Machine Gun.

In addition to the aforementioned wares, Call of Duty: WW2's Operation: Shamrock & Awe event also adds a new map called Shipment 1944, which debuts first for Season Pass owners, who will have early access first on March 13, with all fans will be able to play the map for free starting on March 16. Those who may not be able to take part during Operation: Shamrock & Awe won't have to miss out on the map, though, as it will still be playable when the festivities are over.

Taking all of this into account, Call of Duty: WW2 fans certainly have plenty to keep them busy during Operation: Shamrock & Awe, as the development team at Sledgehammer Games has packed the event to the gills with new materials. Plus, with the studio having recently made the game's Resistance DLC pack available across all platforms, there's no doubt that myriad players are still doing all they can to keep up with the seemingly constant influx of content.

Call of Duty: WW2 is available now for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
