Back in December, Call of Duty: WW2 added fan favorite game modes like Gun Game and Prop Hunt, but only for a limited time as part of the Winter Siege multiplayer event. Now thanks to popular demand, both Gun Game and Prop Hunt have been added back to the game as permanent modes.

Call of Duty: WW2 players looking to play Gun Game or Prop Hunt will find the modes in the Featured playlist tab. For those who are unaware of what these modes are, Gun Game is a popular game mode that was first introduced to the series back in Call of Duty: Black Ops. In it, players work their way through a ladder of weapons, with each kill bringing them closer to the final weapon. The first player to earn a kill with every weapon in the ladder wins the match.

Prop Hunt, meanwhile, is one of the stranger game modes in Call of Duty: WW2. In Prop Hunt, some players control objects and try to find the best hiding spots in the environment. Those that are controlling actual soldiers have to patrol the game map and figure out which are objects meant to be in the map and which are enemies in disguise.

By adding Gun Game and Prop Hunt as permanent game modes to Call of Duty: WW2, it shows that Sledgehammer Games is listening to fan feedback. However, it is worth pointing out that since Gun Game was introduced in Call of Duty: Black Ops, that many subsequent Call of Duty titles have launched without it, only to add it at a later date. It's clear that there is consistent fan demand for Gun Game, so it's odd that it isn't just a standard game mode at launch at this point.

Regardless, those who were wanting to see Gun Game and Prop Hunt added back to the Call of Duty: WW2 playlists will be happy to see the two modes return. In the future, Sledgehammer Games may test the waters for other new modes by adding them as part of limited-time events, and it will be interesting to see how many become permanent fixtures, and which are left by the wayside.

Call of Duty: WW2 is available now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
