Activision and Sledgehammer Games continue to build the hype for their upcoming Call of Duty: WW2 expansion with the release of a live-action trailer. While previous trailers for the DLC pack, titled The Resistance, have focused more on giving fans a look at the new maps and gameplay, the latest promo takes a somewhat different approach.

The live-action trailer, which can be viewed below care of the official Call of Duty Youtube channel, follows a group of Call of Duty: WW2 fans as they begin to take the game a little too seriously. As they begin to form their own resistance against an unknown (or nonexistent) oppressor, they soon begin to alienate and confuse those with whom they come into contact. This comes as one of many live-action and often humorous tie-ins the famous FPS franchise has produced over the years.

As seen at the end of the trailer there is plenty of new content for fans who purchase the expansion to enjoy. Included in the DLC are three new multiplayer maps titled Valkyrie, Anthropoid, and Occupation, the last of which is a remake of a Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 map called Resistance, and a new War mode map, titled Operation Intercept.

Last but not least the DLC will include the next chapter in the popular Zombies mode, The Darkest Shore. As always, this new content will be available to PS4 players first on the 30th of January before being released on Xbox and PC almost a month later.

For those unaware, The Resistance will be one of four DLC packs released over the course of 2018, all of which are sure to keep fans coming back for more, only adding to the success of the game. After Infinite Warfare's fairly lackluster showing the year before, it seems that a return to its World War shooter roots was just what the franchise needed, delivering not only critical praise but also a large commercial success. One can only hope that Activision and Sledgehammer Games can deliver more content that reaches the same quality as the game itself and continue to prove that this long-standing franchise isn't dead yet.
