Call of Duty: WW2 players that are serious about dominating in its online battlefields may have to change up their strategies. Sledgehammer Games has released a patch that effectively nerfs the M1918 Browning Automatic Rifle, also known as the BAR, meaning one of the best weapons to use in multiplayer is not quite as deadly.

The BAR was considered by many members of the Call of Duty: WW2 community to be overpowered, so they should be happy to know that the latest patch increases the gun's recoil. However, those that used the BAR religiously may be saddened to learn that the weapon is no longer the killing machine it has been since launch. Ultimately, Sledgehammer Games is looking to deliver a balanced multiplayer experience, so the BAR's nerf was inevitable.

While some fans may be sad to see the BAR nerfed, most will be happy with another change made by the patch. Shortly after launch, Sledgehammer Games changed the Headquarters social space to only include those in your party, and not random players online as advertised due to crippling server issues. As of the latest patch, Headquarters should be back to normal, giving players the chance to participate in the various activities it has to offer.

In the future, Call of Duty: WW2 fans can expect Sledgehammer Games to fix other lingering issues with the game, as well as add new content. Because of some leaked information, we already know that popular game modes like Gun Game and Infection are on the way, along with a slew of new firearms for players to collect and use in their online battles.

Beyond these free updates, fans can also look forward to some paid DLC content as well. PS4 owners will have first dibs on Call of Duty: WW2's The Resistance DLC expansion when it launches at the end of January, bringing with it new multiplayer and Zombies maps.
